I see there is more debate about supply management in the media without taking into consideration the subsidies US farmers receive for producing and overproducing milk.

Groks take on the benefits of Christmas for society
Enjoy!
Christmas primarily celebrates the birth of Jesus Christ, which is central to Christian faith, marking a time of joy, peace, and goodwill. Here's how this celebration can be beneficial for society:
1. **Community and Family Bonding**: Christmas encourages gatherings, which strengthen family ties and community bonds. Events like Christmas dinners, caroling, and community service projects foster a sense of belonging and unity.
2. **Acts of Charity and Kindness**: The season is often associated with giving, leading to increased charitable activities. This can include donations to food banks, volunteering, and other forms of community support, enhancing empathy and social cohesion.
3. **Economic Benefits**: The holiday season significantly boosts local economies due to increased spending on gifts, decorations, and travel. This can lead to job creation in retail, hospitality, and other sectors.
4. **Cultural Exchange and Inclusivity**: Even for those who do not celebrate Christmas religiously, the holiday has become a cultural phenomenon that promotes inclusivity through various secular traditions like gift-giving, festive decorations, and Santa Claus, which are enjoyed across different cultural backgrounds.
5. **Mental Health and Well-being**: The festive atmosphere can improve mood and combat seasonal depression. The lights, music, and general cheer can provide psychological benefits by fostering hope and positivity.
6. **Reflection and Peace**: For individuals, it's a time for reflection, forgiveness, and setting intentions for the new year, which can lead to personal growth and societal harmony.
7. **Cultural Preservation**: Christmas traditions help preserve cultural heritage, passing down customs, stories, and songs through generations, maintaining cultural identity.
Overall, while Christmas has religious origins, its celebration has evolved to include many secular aspects that contribute positively to societal well-being by promoting unity, charity, economic activity, and personal reflection.
There are huge benefits to our society from our Judaeo-Christian beginnings.
Sovereignty of the individual over the divisiveness of group identity is another.
Merry Christmas everyone!
Meet the Oldest Currently Milking Animal in Canada: HARVEY OUTSIDE NAROLA
During Chantal Charette’s classification visit at Ferme HARVEY in Alma, Lac-Saint-Jean (QC), she discovered this gem! This youthful cow is 19 years old with 13 lactations producing over 150 000 kgs of milk, which makes her the oldest animal currently milking in Canada. Classifier Charette could not believe how youthful this animal looked. She has true Canadian Dairy Strength, Chest Width, Angle and Sweep to her rib cage, with a strong loin and amazing texture! These traits make NAROLA a true example of the longevity the breed strives for.
More than half of the herd are her descendants and she has 6 direct living descendants in the barn. Narola loves her pasture and is the Queen of the herd. She is currently pregnant with her 14th calf.
Congratulations to Éric & René Harvey!

I’m convinced that if Jesus was doing his earthly ministry today, he’d run afoul of both liberals and conservatives. He’d scandalize liberals w/ exclusive truth claims & inflexible sexual ethics. He’d rankle conservatives by undermining their authority or telling parables of “the Good Muslim.” He’d tell someone to empty their 401k and give the money to the poor. In the end both sides would be saying the same thing as Jesus’ contemporaries: let’s get rid of this guy.
"The fact is that I am a Christian... I was once quite a militant atheist myself...But now I am a believer, and that helps me a lot in my activities, because everything becomes much, much easier. I think about things less. There are fewer dilemmas in my life, because there is a book in which, in general, it is more or less clearly written what action to take in every situation. It’s not always easy to follow this book, of course, but I am actually trying. And so, as I said, it’s easier for me, probably, than for many others, to engage in politics.”
Alex Navalny
The world mourns the death of Alexei Navalny who fearlessly fought against corruption in Russia and was poisoned, imprisoned and now it seems murdered by the Russian state.
Navalny often quoted from Jesus' sermon on the mount: “Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be satisfied.
He commented :
“I’ve always thought that this particular commandment is more or less an instruction to activity."
I find that very inspiring and as a sign of respect to him, I find myself looking again at my life and asking how I can follow his example of pursuing justice.

@s_guilbeault@JaimeBattiste You’re wrong about this, do your job and look at the evidence. There are less not more catastrophic weather events now. Canadians needs are to scrap the carbon tax and allow the economy to recover.
I had to attend a funeral today, and just as the graveside service was ending, there was a bright distant bolt of lightning, accompanied by a tremendous burst of rumbling thunder.
The little old man who had just buried his wife, looked at the pastor and said, “well, she’s there, and it’s His problem now.”
Everyone was stoic, until the pastor busted out laughing. 😂

“The biggest failure we have in providing health care to mothers and children is a failure of imagination... If we can send a rover to Mars, we can imagine a world where mothers and babies can live long and healthy lives.” –Dr. Paul Farmer of @PIH#Goalkeepers2030 https://t.co/rEdrVAi5tD
Some kids know they want a tattoo as young as 2-3 years old. Early signs include using markers to draw on their arms, repeatedly reaching for a pen placed in front of them, and making the sounds “t-ah,” and/or “t-ouh.”
Be an inclusive adult. Tell them about people with tattoos. Show them pictures of all the pretty tattoos, and ask them, “do you want a tattoo?”
You will see… Kids just know!
