ITV News has made a brilliant and evocative short documentary about the night the UK voted to leave the EU. You may find it triggering, or joyful, or profoundly depressing. I urge you to watch it

Roy Hattersley played an important and under-rated role in the rehabilitation of Labour after its near collapse in the early 1980s. He was also an accomplished historian and writer, and very funny.
Roy was a dear friend and close colleague of my dad. He has been part of my de facto extended family most of my conscious life and I am deeply sad to learn of his death. Sincere condolences to Maggie and all his friends and relations

It’s is a really dark day when a talk about the history of ancient Israel and Judah is cancelled by the British Museum because of ‘security concerns’.
Is this what we do now? We cave in?
Exc: Andy Burnham sits down for the first time since announcing his Westminster bid
There’s a lot on this interview, as he lays out a plan for a ‘new economy’, how him and Keir Starmer have different visions and he ‘100%’ gets why people have voted Reform https://t.co/Ckux93PV7L
There’s an exciting race on in Scotland just now and it’s getting a lot of interest. No of course it’s not the election. But who do the main party leaders want to win the Scottish Premiership? @ITVNewsPolitics
This video is less than two minutes long and I implore everyone to watch it. It is indeed rather extraordinary.
As Holocaust Awareness Ireland says, Patrick Kielty exhibits utter callousness with respect to the attacks on the Jewish community, astonishingly saying ‘the backdrop of that is obviously the horrors in Gaza, this is a complex thing.’
Boy George remains calm and says ‘if you don’t know any Jewish people maybe that’s the problem.’ He then asks the audience ‘do you know any Jewish people?’
Boy George is visibly taken aback by the ensuing silence, and vocalises his shock twice, remarking that it is ‘weird’ and ‘surprising me a little bit.’ Patrick looks uncomfortable and ends puts an end to the topic with a dismissive ‘mmm’.
Extraordinary viewing. Just extraordinary.
It can be tough being a Tory in Scotland. Now they’re being squeezed by the rise of Reform and their own record in Westminster.

An ultra Orthodox man doing his job as a building inspector was working in Slough when he was physically attacked by a total stranger screaming ‘baby killer’ and ‘dirty mother f*cking Jew’ at him.
A friend of his has sent me this video telling me the man is now ‘afraid to leave his area, he is terrified for his life.’
As the most visibly obvious Jews, the community has extra security where they live but are increasingly frightened to leave their neighbourhood.
‘It is devastating that Jewish people can’t go anywhere without a high risk of being attacked,’ I was told.
🚔 @ThamesVP are investigating and seeking witnesses to the attack on Monday afternoon in Slough.
