Stellar post by philosopher Daniel Muñoz, very probably the best I have seen by a liberal about the Arday affair. That is the primary reason I am sharing it.
A secondary reason, however, is that even it refrains from drawing morals. Take:
“This man is the apotheosis of what anti-DEI people have been alleging about higher ed for years. There is no better way to discredit DEI and validate those critics than to stand by a lying, self-mythologizing, low-output, overhyped thief.”
This is oddly written in a modally distanced mood. More to the purpose:
“This man is the apotheosis of what anti-DEI people have been alleging for years. That distinguished academics have stood by a lying, self-mythologizing, low-output, overhyped thief yet further discredits DEI and vindicates those critics.”
@AAGDhillon@CiviRights Also patronizing, like black people couldn't manage to go camping without the help of an overpriveledged group of white liberals.
@Lord_Talbot64 Hey, he was dealing with a brain tumor 1 week before his dissertation. Those sexually frustrated white liberal women around him were busy. Give them some slack.
A black author who got a $2 million plus crime novel book deal has been accused by his own book agent of suspected AI-use to write the story. He says this is racism and an attempt to stop black authors from shining. https://t.co/PNirtPHDZB
A tale of two professors: David Harris was stripped of his emeritus title because of alleged poor quality research critiquing critical race theory. What a telling contrast to the celebrated rise of Jason Arday at Cambridge and other institutions. They all failed to act responsibly towards their duty of intellectual integrity or indeed to Arday himself. https://t.co/sj0yZQIdmS
@williamcrawley@YouTube I think you will find that this is because he was so brilliant at it that they had to discontinue the course and scrub it from the Cambrige site to avoide shaming us lesser academic brains.
@RichardHanania The same thing happened to me the week before my dissertation. Fortunately a sexually frustrated older white liberal woman on the faculty helped me pass. Phewww!
Clarifications on my interview regarding Jason Arday:
1. I've never worked for Liverpool John Moores University.
2. I've never reviewed a PhD thesis.
3. I've never been part of an Academic Misconduct Panel.
4. Removing video from a video interview removes crucial context.
15 years ago today, hundreds of Blacks engaged in a pre-mediated "flash mob" race riot on the opening night of the Wisconsin State Fair.
Dozens of White people were attacked at random.
It was mostly hidden from the public until RT acquired the 911 calls.
