Wow, can’t believe I have this very niche thing in common with both these men.
My father was expelled, too. As was my grandfather. Draw a direct line from that to the fact that I love America & everything about the American way — foremost of which is: freedom.
This is an astonishing document. Not a single war aim has been achieved, but Iran receives enormous financial incentives, and even Hezbollah gets some benefits. What an absolute disaster. https://t.co/uj3990eh6q
Cancelled in the chair as Trump went long at the G7. That’s the nature of live TV news!
Here’s what I’s planned to say on-air:
• Fragile Iran ceasefire needs real enforcement: verifiable sanctions & nuclear benchmarks, not more empty optics.
• Energy stability is critical for Wall Street confidence & Silicon Valley supply chains: no more chaos.
• Trump’s G7 bluster (praising his “strong” deal while threatening bombs) highlights the risks of personality-driven policy over consistent strategy.
America deserves better leverage.
Let’s go make some TV! But not before I share my big 3 political thoughts today:
1. US-Iran deal signed: Ceasefire holds for now, but reopening Hormuz won’t fix deeper tensions. Diplomacy is a start, not the end.
2. Ceasefires are fragile! Real stability needs enforcement, alliances, & clear red lines…not just ink on paper.
3. G7 this week: World leaders have to turn this Iran pause into lasting pressure for denuclearization & regional security. No illusions!
The alternative is clear: no sanctions relief or Hormuz concessions until Iran provides verifiable dismantlement of its nuclear program, missiles, & proxy networks. Maximum pressure was working. Easing leverage first is a strategic blunder that repeats past errors. If that reads as “gibberish,” try engaging the substance before dismissing it.
Pence is spot on: this isn’t “a mistake,” it’s a strategic blunder. Handing Iran sanctions relief & Hormuz access as a lifeline before securing verifiable dismantlement of their nuclear program, missiles, & proxy networks repeats same errors of the past.
Premature concessions risk higher costs later…for energy security, our allies, & American families. Details & enforcement will tell the real story.
BREAKING: US officials have now confirmed in a briefing that Iran will get full access to a total of $100 billion in frozen funds and the $300 billion reconstruction fund, both included in the deal with implementation now underway, per WSJ.
More than $150 billion of the fund has already been committed, directly contradicting Trump's claims that the US would not contribute to the $300 billion fund, per Reuters.
NEW: Democratic Socialist Janeese Lewis George is projected to win today's D.C. mayoral primary, in what analysts are calling the district’s “Mamdani moment.”
80% chance.
Norway fans are doing a “Viking Row” up the escalator at Boston’s South Station before heading to the World Cup
Adding this to the list of things I’ve never seen before and probably never will again
BREAKING: The New York Times has obtained leaked audio recordings of the White House Situation Room when Trump and Rubio were discussing going to war with Iran.
“Anything you can do, I can do better.”
Not because I’m naturally superior…more so because I’ll get smarter & work harder.
^ That’s the American way. Let’s not let it slip away. #America250
