As part of the ongoing Sangathan Srijan Abhiyan in Cooch Behar, I visited Mekhliganj Assembly constituency today after a two-day break. At NNM Hall, I interacted with & held direct discussions with block-level activists,strengthening our organisational efforts at the grassroots.

#WATCH | Guwahati, Assam: On Assam Flood, Congress leader Ripun Bora says, "... So far, 99 people have died as per official report. But the figure may be higher, and still there are lots of dead bodies that have not been recovered till now. And the government has totally failed in the rescue operation and in giving relief to the people... Government relief is very, very nominal, and the Chief Minister himself declared that for seven days after the flood, the government had not been able to go there... I have also visited there. We have seen plenty of relief materials, from food to utensils or clothes, etc., all of which have been contributed by the people, by the public. The government has done nothing, and there is rampant corruption. Many of the relief materials have been looted..."

Stood with families devastated by the recent floods in Sivasagar and Charaideo. In the presence of Ex-CLP leader @DsaikiaOfficial,I contributed one month’s pension to support around 100 affected families with essential items. A small effort to bring hope & a smile.
