“To beard the lion in his den.”
The dictionary defines it as boldly confronting a powerful rival on their own turf.
For years, Norway Chess has been Magnus Carlsen’s den. His turf. His domain.
So I woke up to this news and my jaw dropped.
You didn’t just win a title, @rpraggnachess.
You walked into the lion’s den and emerged victorious
This title is important. Not because of the trophy, but because of your challenger spirit.
And that’s something all of us can learn from…

It’s a general principle that as economies grow, agriculture must shrink in importance.
But perhaps what declines is not agriculture itself… only our imagination of it
In a village near Kota, Shree Kishan Suman re-imagined his farming practice, shifted from his inherited farming of wheat & rice to first floriculture & then to mango grafting.
What strikes me is not just the outcome, but the method. This is true entrepreneurship: resilience in the face of uncertainty, a science-based approach, and the patience to let nature reveal its secrets.
We most often look for startups in our engineering campuses.
We should be looking just as closely at our farms.
If this variety proves scalable, it opens up real possibilities: for farmers’ incomes, for supply chains, even for how we experience something as seasonal (and sacred!)as the mango.
What if mango season didn’t really end?
And if he ever chooses to scale his venture, I’d be more than willing to back him.
