India's Education Minister Mr. Dharmendra Pradhan has resigned today after over a month of protest by Gen-Z led by the @CJP_2029 and @Wangchuk66.

Read English translation:

"My young friends,

For more than four decades, I have been dedicated to students, teachers, and education reform. I have always believed that a strong, inclusive, and visionary education system is the cornerstone of a strong nation.

I deeply respect the aspirations, emotions, and just expectations of the nation's youth. Realizing the dreams of India's young generation has been a moral commitment across all of our political and social life. I express my gratitude to the Prime Minister for the opportunity I received to serve the nation under his visionary leadership.

However, irregularities were found in the NEET-UG examination held on 3 May 2026. The Government of India immediately took cognizance of this, handed the investigation over to the CBI, cancelled the exam, and announced a date for a re-examination. Along with this, it was decided that from next year, this exam would be conducted in CBT (Computer-Based Test) mode.

During this time, our main priority was to ensure the smooth conduct of the exam for more than 2 million students. For this, work was carried out under a whole-of-government approach, in which state governments — especially district administrations — played an important role alongside the Government of India. With the cooperation of students, guardians, and parents, this exam was completed on 21 June 2026.

From the very first day, I took responsibility for this and never turned away from the situation. My resolve was that we would not let the potential of any meritorious student be spoiled because of the exam mafia, and that no student would face injustice.

The NEET-UG results announced on 16 July were satisfactory, with many meritorious students from poor backgrounds also achieving success.

But even during this time, individuals holding positions of responsibility tried to create obstacles by misleading students, which deeply troubled me.

I have always held unwavering faith in the strength of our democracy, and I have always deeply respected the aspirations, dreams, and expectations of the youth. They are not just India's future — they are the bearers, builders, and architects of a new and developed India.

Seeing the events of the past ten days has saddened me. This is not a matter of personal prestige for me.

India's youth power is the real strength of this country. I am resolved not to let the country's youth get trapped in a cycle of confusion.

Considering that anti-national forces should not take advantage of the situation that has arisen at Jantar Mantar and across the country; that the unity of the nation should be preserved; that not even a single Indian student's future should get entangled in legal complications; and that our children should devote their time to their studies and focus on building their careers — with these thoughts in mind, I have sent my resignation letter to the Hon'ble Prime Minister.

I express my heartfelt gratitude to the respected Prime Minister for his guidance, trust, and continuous support. I also thank all my esteemed colleagues in the Council of Ministers, the officials and staff of the Ministry, and everyone with whom I had the privilege of working. Service to the nation is the highest priority of my life, and I will always remain devoted to it.

By the blessings of Lord Jagannath, I will continue to dedicate myself, in every possible way, to fulfilling the aspirations of Mother India, the people of Odisha, and the youth of the country.
