I must be behind the times. I thought war was soldiers fighting soldiers. Reluctantly, with an innate reticence, and out of a sense of duty.

Not:

Snipers shooting children for fun.
Then sniping a mother or father coming to protect them
Withholding food, water, medical supplies from getting to families and millions of people
Starving a whole county to death
Bombing refugees in ‘safe zones’ after bombing them out of their homes.
Murdering children who are left hanging by torn limbs from fences.
Bombing all hospitals, medics, aid workers
Bombing Infants buried under rubble left to die a torturous indescribable slow death.
Filming of mass killings of neighbourhoods to be shared with friends and relatives like it was an amusing in-joke.
17,000 children orphaned and about the same dead
That’s not war. That’s something else that all know.

Happy Boxing Day. The Church of Saint Porphyrius pictured where 20 Christians were killed by a missile strike, after which a grandmother and her daughter leaving were killed by snipers (the older lady’s body was then run over by a tank). 

One supposes Christians are valid combatants. As are 2-year olds, 4-year-olds, 9-year-olds, and 11-year-olds, young families, mothers, fathers, grandmothers and grandfathers.

High-tech, donated US weapons unleashed on small families trying to raise children.

We live in a world where people are too frightened to say a word for children and families. Such as Nada here below who is 9-years-old and her family.

Nine-year-old Nada from southern Gaza survived a bombardment that killed her mother and brother and left her injured.

To provide children with the life-saving support they need, UNICEF continues to call for a humanitarian ceasefire.

To all those fortunate enough to have a family alive and well and near and safe (and all who don’t ) very best wishes for Christmas.

Thinking of those who have gone to bed every night for months not knowing if their 2 or 5 or 12 year-old or the family will survive the night and all who have lost everything. The same concern as the Holy Family had over 2000 years ago in Palestine.
