Meet the Sheffield born and bred artist who is behind our latest colourful addition to West Street: @roblee_art
We’re so stoked that Rob joined the UPFEST PRESENTS family for 2024, bringing his ace hypnotic geometric patterns to our streets. Come and see it, Bristol.
@EliotJacobson … at the bottom. The capitalist world has truly fucked the human race.. as has social media (a product of the capitalist way). We are a well and truly fucked species, my heart goes out to all the wildlife already lost, and I fear for my family and friends kids. Keep strong ♥️
@EliotJacobson guess what.. once you’d bought everything you could ever dream of you’d still have about 99.5% left. What to do then? Why do these people hoard such ridiculous wealth?! I believe it’s a mental illness.. god complex or something.. complete devoid of emotion to the poor folk…
Wow! EEI is now at a record 1.36 Watts per square metre! “11 Hiroshimas of excess energy per second accumulating in Earth’s climate system over the past three years." Drawdown and reductions alone ain’t going to cut it I’m afraid. https://t.co/ZdozeD4h8k
Don't be under any illusion that anyone has the slightest idea how this planet will respond to the most extreme of pressures exerted on it by the explosion of human GHGs. As far as is known, there's never been a warming event anything like this fast in Earth's 4.6 billion year history. Climate models and even the paleoclimate record completely break down at this singularity.
For all the climate deniers and climate trolls out there, Stephen Barlow's analysis in this thread is spot on, start to finish, and is well worth a read before you go about being a total f&%king ignorant a&%hole for another day.
WHERE IS YOUR REPORTING @BBCBreaking@BBCNews@BBCWorld@Channel4@Channel4News@ITV@itvnews ?!
The population needs to know the incomprehensible troubles lying ahead. Please start reporting on this so people can mentally prepare. To not to is negligence on the grandest scale!
Sulfur emissions cooled our planet by about 0.5°C, on a global average.
It cooled more where most of us live.
3.5 years ago we reduced sulfur emissions over the oceans by about 80%.
Oceans heat up faster.
Prepare for more warming, extreme weather and faster sea level rise.
Another day, another record for the North Atlantic. Everything is happening so fast, it's hard to get a sense of the enormity of these anomalies, let alone their consequences.
@EliotJacobson Apologies, I understand that isn’t an easy question to answer. Also, apologies for spelling your name wrong! Massively appreciate your reporting though, thank you 🙏
📍‘Aberrate’ can be viewed from Arundel Street & Howard Street @sheffcitycentre.
It’s also right next to one of @roblee_art’s most well-known #streetart murals he created for @nowthenmag back in 2018.💙
On inspiration for his series, @roblee_art says this is “chromatic aberration, a phenomenon found in lenses, when they fail to focus light wavelengths correctly therefore refracting & dispersing colour incorrectly.”
