@holman@MLSgod Weird that you equivocate kids wanting to see their country's colors on their jersey with being bigoted.
Way to jump to conclusions
Pot meet kettle.
@SpeakerWelchIL Illinois has:
-Higher income taxes
-Higher corporate taxes
-Higher sales taxes
-Higher real estate taxes
-Higher gasoline taxes
-Higher gas prices
-Higher crime
It's amazing how one-party rule has ruined a state with so many natural advantages in agriculture and industry.
@dkwillabus Yeah, pretty much all of the socials suck in their own way and this one is dying quicker than I thought it would.
Sadly, it's the only one I ever use and still has the best potential for good discussions and quick information gathering.
@usmntonly It's amazing how some baseball stadiums allow 45,000+ fans to bring coolers full of food and drinks for 80 games a year without security issues, but a reusable water bottle for 1 game is a "safety issue".

@ryanburge It's interesting:
Atheists deny God and often hold science as sacred
Science says humans sole purpose is to procreate
Yet, atheists are the least likely to procreate
@raggedlines Also, the guy she's into at work will mostly likely become just as "boring" as the good man she's with now as soon as they're together for a little while.
The problem is most likely not her husband... just like for many "bored" men, the problem is not their wife.
@stevemagness I tell my players all the time that their coach and practice time isn't what is really going to make them better.
It's all the hours in-between when they get better because they just want to play and grow without someone telling them to do it.
@grochbegley Even beyond dump in the pot dishes, you can make a ton of meals with simple staples: eggs, Beans, rice, pasta, bread, fruits, vegetables, meats.
Mos of these last weeks, aren't hard to prepare with just a little effort, and are very versatile with few add ins.
@dawblack Yep, if they don't change they'll suffer the same fate of the NHL which lost a lot of standing during the 2000s due to bad/restrictive TV deals.
Long-time fans are still watching, but they're not reaching the next generation which is suicide for sports leagues.
@JohnLPitts Yep, the blackouts are silly; the multiple streaming services are silly; and the lack of games on local providers in local markets is silly.
They'll hold on for the short term because of long-time fans but with limited TV and expensive tickets, the kids aren't watching.
@andreavhowe Yep, this is very much the case. And most of those kids are having a far, far better social experience than going to a party/event with alcohol.
Is there a problem with too many kids being inside all day on screens? Sure. Is alcohol somehow the solution? Not even a little.
@Steve_Kicinski For those that can, yes. Sadly, for most, it isn't possible.
What is possible, however, is bucking the trends and fads and taking a firm stand on when kids get access to technology.
People are scared to be different and don't know how to say "no".
The answer isn't to have a school with all the smart phones removed.
The answer is to have a school where the parents never gave their kids smart phones.
