Remember that accepting a situation does NOT mean not doing anything about it. It means starting where you are. Not where you want to be. Not where you think you should be. But where you are.
If you don't start from where you are it is hard to move forward in any meaningful way.
According to research, when Confidence is high in athletes, they:
-Are able to focus on task at hand
-Express more positive emotions (enjoyment, calm, excitement)
-Body language changes
-Sense of control increases
-Tend to utilize positive coping strategies
Today's practice: Acceptance.
Acceptance is not passive resignation. It is seeing clearly what is happening—not what you want to be happening or what you thought would be happening; but what is ACTUALLY happening—and taking wise action that aligns with your values.
MENTAL TOUGHNESS isn’t about fighting against or making hard situations, thoughts, or feelings go away. It's not about squashing them either. It’s about creating space in which to hold these challenges so you can see them clearly and take wise, conscious action.

Trying to be perfect always at self-improvement is a surefire way to burnout.

Emotional fatigue is real. Poured a lot of energy, over several months, into this year’s #BostonMarathon. Physically, I already feel I’ve bounced back. Mentally, I know I am still deep in the well.
#ProTip: downtime is not solely for physical recovery, don’t rush it.

Be a minimalist to Be a maximalist. You can’t be great at everything. Regularly reflect on what matters most to you and focus your efforts there. You'll be better *and* feel better.
Social media is full of people making posts as if everything in their lives is perfect, especially in the health and performance realm. Remember that so much of that is an illusion. Don't compare yourself to a bar that isn't real.
