In 1960, the William Morris Society was fortunate enough to be gifted a collection of deeds that shed light on Morris's tenure at Red House from 1859 to 1865. 🌟 These parchment pieces, meticulously outline the parameters of the land acquisitions. 🏠

With the support of both our new President @TristramHuntVA and Lisa Montague, the CEO of @SandersonFW we successfully launched our exhibition 'Morris's Successor: John Henry Dearle' this past Thursday evening. The exhibition was also graciously funded by @SandersonFW.
We are excited to announce the appointment of Dr Tristram Hunt as the William Morris Society's new President. Dr Hunt is the Director of the V&A and a distinguished historian and author. His first official act will be to open our exhibition, Morris's Successor: John Henry Dearle.

🎂 May Morris was born on 25th March, 1862 at Red House in Bexleyheath. Not only are their birthdays a day apart but May inherited her Father's creative and entreprenurial side becoming a skilled teacher, lecturer, editor, jeweller, designer, and most of all embroiderer.
