Republican politicians would rather talk about whether people clapped for a brave boy with cancer (we did and I did) rather than the fact that they are cutting cancer research and gutting health coverage for half of America’s kids, including kids with cancer.
I held my 27 year old husband’s hand when he died from cancer. I am offended by their heartless policies toward cancer patients, survivors, and their families. The volume of your cheers for a cancer survivor won’t drown out your support for closing down life-saving cancer clinical trials.
I will not tolerate lies and a lecture about decorum from extremists that tolerate an insurrection and every day degrades our political discourse.
If you want to increase funding for cancer research and expand access to health care, I’ll be happy to meet you anywhere or any time. But I won’t be holding my breath.
I’ve been critiqued for my appearance all my life—mostly by men who wouldn’t survive 5 minutes under the same scrutiny.
But I love my self-expression & no troll is changing that. It makes me effective for the people.
Ladies, wear what you want. The haters will have to adjust.
NEWS: I was just named Chair of @NewDemCoalition's Policy Task Force on the Care Economy!
From increasing access to health care to making childcare more affordable to passing paid family and medical leave in Congress, making life better for working families will always be a top priority of mine.
Today, I spoke with thousands of Delawareans during a virtual town hall I hosted alongside @ChrisCoons, @SenatorLBR, and @DE_DOJ.
Since taking office, I've been meeting and visiting with Delawareans across our state and have heard their concerns about how what's happening here in Washington is impacting families, workers, seniors, organizations, and our communities.
I will continue to raise my voice and use all the levers at my disposal to protect the critical programs and services that Delawareans depend on. Watch our full town hall conversation here: https://t.co/aqc4nKyxbH
Today I visited with the staff and incredible volunteers at a local senior center in Kent County. They provide roughly 190 seniors with meals every single day - thanks to Meals on Wheels. Any freeze on federal grants threatens to end this. I won’t stop fighting to ensure that critical services are delivered to Delawareans.
I’ve heard from thousands of Delawareans about their fears over the unconstitutional and illegal actions taken by the Trump administration.
My open letter to Delawareans is live on The News Journal.
Thanks to the overwhelming outcry from Delawareans and Americans across the country about the impact of Trump's unconstitutional federal funding freeze, he has rescinded the order.
But this is far from over. The Trump White House is regrouping to figure out how to rip off working people. We can’t let up now. Keep the pressure up.
This is Trump’s first major loss.
When we fight, we win.
We may not have majorities in the House and the Senate, but we DO have the power to loudly educate and mobilize against the mass looting the Trump admin is attempting against our veterans, healthcare, education, and more.
This fight is far from over. Republican politicians are regrouping to figure out how to rip off working people. But pressure CAN work. Now is not the time to let up.
Everywhere I’ve been in Delaware this week - senior centers, hospitals, community events, even just walking down the street - people were outraged by the funding freeze order.
I know it’s easy to be demoralized by our politics, but we have seen that when we lift our voices and focus our energies, we can win.
Republican politicians cutting Medicaid coverage, including funding for maternal health care? So much for the "pro-life" party.
I will always defend Medicaid coverage for the hundreds of thousands of Delawareans - and the millions of Americans - who rely on it for care.
Our Attorney General @KathyJenningsDE is on the frontlines of protecting Delawareans from scammers. I’m so proud to have her support for our bipartisan bill.
Rep. Sarah McBride is the first freshman House Democrat to introduce a bill in the new Congress.
The Ending Scam Credit Repair Act seeks to crack down on "fraudulent practices" from companies that "deceive consumers with high fees and empty promises" to fix their credit scores. https://t.co/ZfKUfxHrBU
No surprise: Sarah is full steam ahead for the people of Delaware, focused on the issues our state cares about.
So proud to have her representing our state in Congress.
Congresswoman McBride is the first member of her freshman class to introduce a bill — one that is both bipartisan and aimed at protecting Delaware consumers.
It’s week one, and she’s already delivering for Delaware.
Less than one week in, New Dem @SarahEMcBride is already delivering on the issues Delawareans really care about, working across the aisle to lower costs for hardworking American families.
