I’m leaving the Impartial to set up my own production company in a joint venture with Iconic Media Group. I’ll be creating podcasts, documentaries and long-form journalism. Social injustice will always be at the heart of what I do, along with giving people a voice. For now, though, it’s time for a break.
After three years as Editor of The Impartial Reporter, I have decided to step down. From walking through its doors as a 16-year-old contributor to leading the title through its bicentenary, it has been an extraordinary journey. Proud of what we achieved together and excited for the next chapter.
A lovely moment, beautifully captured. This is what most of society in NI looks like every day - people respecting each other with decency. It is vital that we in the media reflect that spirit of togetherness just as much as we report on division. After all, unity is every bit as much a part of our story as disagreement.
Thanks to @rodneyedwards for the trust, support and time to work on this campaign.
Here is where he explains the importance of the campaign - https://t.co/aojcEr0LAw

🧵Stand With Her isn’t just a slogan - it’s a promise.
A promise to believe survivors, to scrutinise systems, and to ask hard questions locally.
That’s why @impartialrep is shining a light on it with sustained coverage.
Here is a thread of our coverage today #StandWithHer
They were daughters, mothers, wives, partners, sisters, friends. Now they are dead. Over the past five years, 79 women have been murdered on the island of Ireland. There is no Border when it comes to violence.
The Impartial Reporter launches ‘Stand With Her’ - a powerful campaign to raise awareness of violence against women and girls. https://t.co/SIGHobQmp8
Proud to launch The Impartial Reporter's ‘Stand With Her’ campaign to raise awareness of violence against women in Fermanagh and South Tyrone - and across Northern Ireland. Powerful stories, real voices. This journalism matters. In print and online.
In his strongest condemnation yet of the Trump-Vance war against Iran, Pope Leo XIV said today:
“We are surrounded by a delusion of omnipotence that’s becoming increasingly unpredictable and aggressive.”
“We are met by threats instead of invitations to come together.
“Those who pray don’t threaten death. Death enslaves those who have turned their backs on God and turned themselves and their own power into a mute, blind, and deaf idol.
“They demand the whole world bends their knee. Enough of the idolatry of self and money! Enough of the display of power! Enough of war!
“True strength is shown in serving life!”
"It doesn't matter if you're Catholic, you're Protestant, you're Muslim, you're Jewish - the grief that people feel is the same."
Fergal Keane on reporting in Northern Ireland during The Troubles, and the "lived experience for people on all sides".

David Dimbleby used the "conspiracy" word on @BBCWorldatOne. He is right. Newspaper editors and some in the Palace conspire to attack certain people, Harry for example, and not write truth about others or ask where Andrew's £12million came from. Without the Royals, Rupert would not have built his UK empire, not as sold so many papers, nor would Rothermere.
A milestone moment for The Impartial Reporter. One million page views in a single month - not by chasing clicks, but by investing in trusted, community-focused journalism across Fermanagh, South Tyrone and the wider Border region. Thank you to our readers! @impartialrep
@DENISEJOHNSTO10 I am deeply sorry for everything you are going through, Denise. Losing your precious son Oisín is an unimaginable pain. You spoke about him with such love and tenderness, and it is clear how much of an impact he made. Our hearts break for you and your family. Please take care.
