There are mornings where something quietly shifts in the room. ❤️

What a truly special morning with the wonderful Casting Associate Leila Ali @LeilaAliCasting.

Leila brought such kindness, generosity and insight into the room — creating a space where actors could ask questions, explore their work and, most importantly, feel seen.

There was something incredibly moving about watching a room full of actors listening, learning and of course laughing. Being brave. Being vulnerable.

Because these workshops are about connection.

They’re about growing in confidence and understanding.

They’re about remembering that, in what can sometimes feel like a very solitary profession, you are part of a community.

And what a wonderful community of actors we have. ❤️

Huge thank you to Leila for being so open, thoughtful and generous with your time and knowledge — and to every actor who walked into the room ready to work, learn and play.

We left feeling inspired, connected and very grateful.

Last week’s workshop with Casting Director Ri McDaid-Wren @Ri_McD was exactly what these evenings are all about. ❤️

A room full of actors, trying things, changing things, finding things... and having a genuinely good laugh while doing it.

Ri gave brilliantly specific feedback throughout the night – the kind of notes that make you look at a scene differently, unlock something new, and give you practical tools to take into your next audition.

But one of my favourite things wasn’t just the feedback. It was the atmosphere.

Actors playing. Trying ideas that might work... or might completely fall flat (which is often where the fun starts). No pressure to be perfect. Just a room where you can do the work.

A huge thank you to Ri for creating such a generous, insightful and encouraging space, and to every actor who brought their curiosity, commitment and sense of play.

A little workshop appreciation post... ❤️

(Archive footage from one of our previous sessions with Rachel because I completely forgot to take any photos last weekend 🙈)

A huge thank you to the brilliant Northern Casting Director Rachel Smith for joining us again this weekend.

The room was full of actors throwing themselves into the work, playing, exploring and giving things a go in a supportive space.

We dug into TV & Film auditions, self-tapes, and then got everyone up on their feet for mock in-the-room casting sessions with live redirection. It was challenging, supportive and, most importantly, fun.

That’s always the aim with these workshops. To create a space where actors can exercise the creative muscle, and remember why we love doing this in the first place.

A massive thank you to Rachel for being so generous with her knowledge, and to every actor who came along and fully got stuck in. ❤️
