Exactly 29 years ago, on May 24, 1997 the first ever @McDonalds opened in #Ukraine, in #Kyiv.

In the early hours of May 24, 2026, that same #McDonalds had been destroyed by a #Russia n attack.

1/ On Sun, @jezmyers & I spoke at the #LewesSpeakersFestival near Brighton.

We were invited to close the entire festival, following speakers such as Liam Byrne MP & Johnny Teague PhD. Which still feels slightly surreal, considering they are all serious people with proper books!
