Bookmark this one for your drafts. The rookie-veteran balance is CRUCIAL in fantasy football. 🔖
Three 2025 rookies went top-150 and all busted relative to ADP:
- Kaleb Johnson
- Matthew Golden
- Jaydon Blue
3️⃣ 2026 rookies to avoid at current ADP:
Omar Cooper (145.0 ADP)
Another Jet, and another investment in a 1st round pass-catcher. The draft capital is nice, but the landing spot hurts the immediate redraft value.
Garrett Wilson is the Jets’ undisputed WR1 locked in through 2030, and there’s no clear path to the No. 2 role either.
The Jets’ offensive makeup feels more like a roadblock for their young pass-catchers than a launching pad.
Take a shot at these players instead:
Jonathan Brooks (First RB off the board in the 2024 draft, and Dowdle is gone. Good shot to compete with Chuba Hubbard for lead role)
Tyler Shough (Underrated rookie season, and Saints offense added weapons around him. Could finish as a QB1, at ~QB2 cost)
Kenyon Sadiq (114.0 ADP)
The Jets have struggled to build a consistent offensive identity, and asking a first-year tight end to thrive in that environment is a lot.
While the team should see better QB play with Geno Smith, Sadiq joined a TE room that just added Mason Taylor with a top-50 draft pick just last season.
Sadiq is a much better dynasty pick than he is a 2026 redraft pick.
Plus, he recently underwent a hernia procedure, which will have him sidelined until at least training camp.
Take a shot at a safer player in this range like:
Brenton Strange (Back-to-back seasons with 40+ catches, career-high 60 targets despite playing in just 12 games last season)
Chigoziem Okonkwo (3 straight seasons with 52+ catches on a poor Titans offense, now joins a much more potent Commanders offense)
Nick Singleton (176.0 ADP)
Tennessee’s backfield is murky, and Singleton isn’t a lock for early-down work. It is safe to assume that he will begin working behind both Tony Pollard and Tyjae Spears.
Plus, Singleton isn’t practicing right now, while he recovers from his Jones fracture surgery. There are better dart throws to take in this area of drafts.
Instead, take a shot on:
Mike Washington Jr. (More opportunity lined up at similar cost)
Cade Otton (Solid TE2, back-to-back seasons with 59 catches)
Where you pick in fantasy football is usually up to the luck of the draw
In most drafts, building around Bijan, Gibbs or Chase won't be an option
Here's my ideal start if I'm stuck drafting in the middle this season ⬇️
Tonight’s HR pick of the day is Jorge Soler, who has a home matchup against a struggling Michael Lorenzen.
