We’re delighted to report that our HR & Compliance Manager, Kirsty Bristow, has today been awarded ‘Distinction’ in her ‘Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management of Adult Care.’

Life-President of the Royal Variety, Giles Cooper OBE, commented, “We send our warmest and heartfelt congratulations to Kirsty for achieving this outstanding result in her Diploma. It’s testament to her many years of hard work, commitment and dedication to the Royal Variety Charity and I’m delighted to add that Kirsty will now be promoted to ‘Deputy Care Home Manager’ of Brinsworth House, our world-famous care home dedicated to those who have served the entertainment industry.”

In accordance with our Constitution, elections were held on Friday 6th February for the Management Body of the Royal Variety. Votes were cast for all Officers, Trustees and Executive Committee Members for the next five years.

As we approach the television broadcast of this year’s @RoyalVariety Performance we’d like to acknowledge the wonderful support of @RoyalFamily by their attendance of this hugely important annual event. This year, TRH’s The Prince & Princess of Wales attended what was a fabulous show and the @RoyalVariety Charity would like to send its heartfelt thanks to TRH’s for being so friendly and accommodating to our many guests and artists, and for their genuine interest in how the show is produced.

Giles Cooper OBE was yesterday awarded Life-Presidency of the Royal Variety at the charity's Annual General Meeting, held at St. Paul's Church (the Actor's Church) in Covent Garden, by former Life-President, Laurie Mansfield.

The honorary title as the Royal Variety’s leader and figurehead, was awarded to Laurie by the previous Life-President, Lord Bernard Delfont, as it’s the Constitutional gift of the previous Life-President to bestow the honorary title onto whomsoever he chooses.

Laurie has chosen our elected Chairman, Giles Cooper OBE, to receive the title and so from now on Giles’ full title will be ‘Chairman & Life-President’.

We wish Laurie a very happy retirement and hope that he’ll continue to assist the charity, in an ad hoc advisory capacity, using his invaluable 60 years of experience in show business and television.
