“If you think the world is selfish and rotten, go to the cemetery at Colleville-sur-Mer overlooking Omaha Beach. See what one group of men did for another on D-Day, June 6th, 1944.” — Andy Rooney
🚨 WOW! Retired professional golfer Gary Player just gave an INCREDIBLE endorsement of President Trump in the Oval Office
"I've been around almost every president for the last 65 YEARS — and I've NEVER seen a president who loves this country as much!"
"I've never seen a president who loves the country as much as you do — and I say thank you, because I've traveled more miles than any human being before without being repetitive and I've never seen a country like this."
"To Mr. Kennedy, who I have absolute utmost respect for...I always talk about the importance of fitness...to eat properly, this is so important, what you put in your body."
"And the big thing that I wish, and I pray every day, and wherever I talk, and I do a lot of talking—I say to the young people, just love this country, because you don't realize what's going on around the world. Even the students of the great universities of America really don't understand what's happening around the world today."
"There is a silent war taking place against America today, and what we've got to do is make these kids realize that freedom and exercise and education start reading some books."
"Listen to what Mr. Kennedy has said: what you put in your body is so important. What a wonderful job he's done and all your cabinet members, of which I say — thank you for maintaining this great word, this cherished word, freedom!"
So many of the ppl who not only refuse to condemn the hateful, violent rhetoric against our president - but have been culprits of it by calling him Hitler, a nazi, etc - were in that room tonight, likely hiding under tables. Maybe, just maybe…THIS will FINALLY convince them to STOP. Stop inciting and encouraging violence just because you don’t like Donald Trump. This is incomprehensible.
Senator Mullin holds back tears as he shares how Trump was there to support his family after his son suffered a traumatic brain injury, including visiting them at a rehab center and offering the Mullin family his personal jet to fly to treatment.
Wow. ❤️
This story is now more than 25 years old and I have told it more times than I can count, but it hits very differently today.
I was anchoring SportsCenter one afternoon and Lou Holtz was on the show. I was quite excited to talk with him, he had been an icon all of my life.
He was very friendly, asking me all about myself as we walked toward the studio to record an interview. I told him: “Actually, Coach, it’s quite exciting, my wife and I are expecting our first child in the next few weeks.”
He stopped dead in his tracks and put a finger up near my face. And I’ll never forget what he said.
“Young man, the most important thing you can do for a child is make sure every day they know how much you love their mother.”
And, just like that, he started walking again.
Our daughter was born a month later, our son came two years after that. And I have thought about what Lou Holtz said to me that day about a million times since.
RIP Coach, thanks for the best advice anyone ever gave me.
This seems like a good time to remind you that a black student in Mississippi is 2.5X more likely to read proficiently by 4th grade than if he or she lived in California. We would be happy to send one of our reading coaches to assist you, @GavinNewsom. Learning is a lifelong journey, and you might achieve some of the gains that our black fourth graders have.
Incidentally, one nice feature of increased literacy is that you do not have to fall back on vulgarity to seem passionate.
Let me know!
Don Lemon wasn’t arrested for exercising his first-amendment rights.
He was arrested for preventing other Americans from exercising their first-amendment rights.
Pretti spitting on ICE agents and kicking out their tail lights. Guy should have been charged with many crimes, he was looking for confrontation for weeks. Guy wasn’t some innocent protester, he was obstructing ICE for weeks.
Anne Frank was targeted and murdered solely because she was Jewish. Leaders making false equivalencies to her experience for political purposes is never acceptable. Despite tensions in Minneapolis, exploiting the Holocaust is deeply offensive, especially as antisemitism surges.
Coach K shares a universal truth about failure, resilience, and growth.
"When you're getting your butt kicked, it's called changing a limit."
"So many parents today don't allow their kids to change limits...They're worried about them failing instead of learning. You learn through the experience of failure and success."
Growth requires discomfort. You have to be willing to look bad before you get better.
The problem isn't failure - it's protecting people from it.
"Failure was never a destination."
You can't grow without accepting that there will be challenges and adversity.
