I was delighted to join Bonner School pupils at Borough Market as a part of School Food Matters National Young Marketeers programme.

The children have learnt so much about sustainability and food marketing. This is celebrated with a fantastic opportunity to sell the produce they have grown in their school gardens at Borough Market. Business was booming. A huge congratulations to all the pupils involved!

We have to act urgently to defend our democracy. Deepfakes and disinformation poison our politics and put candidates and politicians at risk.

The Government has an opportunity to tackle these threats to our democracy. The Representation of the People Bill is an important step forward in strengthening our democracy, as well as extending the right to vote to 16 and 17 year olds. But current plans contain gaps when it comes to voting reform, cryptocurrency donations and social media regulation, which I urge the Government to address.

I am aware of fire at Stratford Station and know the footage circulating online is causing real concern. I have been in contact with the relevant authorities to stay updated. An area of shrubbery near the railway is alight. Stratford station has been evacuated and is temporarily closed.

@LondonFire are on site with eight fire engines and around 60 firefighters working to get it under control swiftly.

Please follow advice, stay safe and avoid the area whilst firefighters work to extinguish the fire.

In Parliament today, I asked the Democracy Minister about the Government’s plans to:

- Permanently ban cryptocurrency political donations.
- Introduce legal duties on major social social platforms that continue to spread disinformation and hate.
