@sichuan_mala@bryancsk My brother, we've been seeing obvious RSI signal for like 6 months. There are unreleased models doing real work right now. Government frameworks on xrisk are being published.
I'm confident capability gaps in public are now to a large degree artificial. (Rightfully btw)
@LastWinterLion@sebastemp@noam_dworman@tylercowen Hey buddy, what's YOUR GRE score? How else can I know if you're a Serious Person??
I think you kinda nailed it. There are useful TC concepts ("Approach a topic by starting hyperspecific")...but he's LLM-like in that he is largely interpolating expertise w/o unique viewpoint.
@SpikeEskin@RationalPhilly Generally agree that Joel is the better player BUT it's hard to overstate the emotional HOW of AI.
Like, the very specific feeling of AI out dueling Vince Carter, Ray Allen, and then this Juggernaut Lakers team in game 1, with an incredible amount of swag. It gave you hope.
@visakanv These are good thoughts for the show, but ultimately the failure is on George as much as the showrunners.
Cutting the Young Griff plot from TV and then using its payoff anyway because GRRM handed them a sketch is the original sin of the show.
@NoahRyanCo Agree generally, but:
There's for sure biohacking applications for intermittent use. Most obviously: enabling periodic deep fasting and in the case of reta completely eliminating liver fat.
@isaac_saas I think that culturally speaking we're boomeranging towards the grunge definition of cool - irony and apathy codify rebellion.
Previously, the target of social antipathy was Authority - "The Man". That's shifted towards wholesale rejection of the economic system.
(...gay)
@synthshareai@OfficialLoganK My hope is that antigravity feedback will significantly help METR in the same way Claude code and codex accelerated those labs.
3.5flashclearly a different thing compared to 3.1 pro, not sure I like it. less lazy on extended, fast, not great at tools/ search, shoots from hip.
@Baboooun@ylecun@Noahpinion just a stand in for cost efficiency which is already crushing humans per unit of cognitive labor.
transformer llm is power and compute inefficient due to density and not sufficiently general due to pre tokenization, rigid due to static weights... And yet here we are.
@MaxB2378@DevyEusuf When the calf can no longer prevent the ankle from further flexion.
This is why fatigue and calf injuries lead to Achilles tears - the muscle is a force in parallel with the elastic element of the tendon.
Look at Durant, Tatum, greenlaw injuries
@PhilaBCoulter Every owner knows this, but they're unwilling to do it because of the time value of money.
Paying players cash up front means the players have the option to compound the money at 8% instead of the owners.
Lurie has net paid $100M+ of real money (although Ws boost valuation)
@TheZvi 5.5 Pro Extended: Definite uplift in polymer chemistry competence compared to 5.4 and G3. 1P. Enough to do real work. Appears to make somewhat novel connections across literature readily (as opposed to needing me to prompt the ideas)
