#SKETCH is officially one of my favorite films of #TIFF 2024. It’s about a kid’s horror movie-like monster drawings coming to life. Yeah, right up my alley. I know!

First for the personal — duh, I grew up liking dark and scary things. What I would have given to see a movie like this at that age, one that embraces that kind of passion and creativity. And now, as an adult, I take great pride in sharing the art I love with the little ones in my life, my young cousins and my niece and nephews. It brings me SUCH joy to know I’ll get to share this film with them one day, a film that celebrates the itch to make wonderfully weird art and also encourages one to reprocess qualities and action others might deem “wrong” when they’re not.

- Structure build — ideas into broad structure.
- Detailed beats connecting the large moments.
- Drop beats on the page as scene headings with some details.
