“DERBY — A Superior Court judge has ordered Gene J. DiGiovanni Jr., chairman of the Derby Republican Party and a convicted Jan. 6 rioter, to pay more than $744,000 for physically assaulting a former employee six years ago.”

Gino DiGiovanni, an elected official who entered the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, did an interview and admitted being hit with pepper spray before he entered the Capitol, which is a slight hint you should maybe not storm the U.S. Capitol.

The referenced indictment took place last month, on June 11, not this week (as was falsely stated on two separate Newsmax programs).
What did happen this week is that DHS put out a press release featuring a mugshot, which led to fresh social media engagement.
This week, @theJusticeDept indicted an Australian national who voted in several U.S. elections. Election officials are illegally allowing non-citizens to vote & the @CivilRights Division will hold them accountable. Expect more to come in this area!
I’m in court for the Tyler Robinson hearing again today and the amount of evidence we got to take a look at just now was overwhelming. Prosecutors showed video interview of Lance Twiggs, texts between Lance Twiggs and Tyler Robinson, private chats with friends who played DND and Tyler Robinson, and a note prosecutors say Tyler Robinson left for Lance Twiggs. In each one, Tyler Robinson seems to confess to the murder of Charlie Kirk.
And in Lance Twiggs’ interview, he says he met with Tyler Robinson in the morning after the shooting where Tyler confessed again, cried, and said “ he wishes he hadn’t done it” and planned to turn himself in.
As a small conspiracist creator outside the courthouse just told me: “ it’s a bad day for the conspiracy theorists”
NEW: The man suspected of shooting members of the National Guard last year on the streets of DC has been hospitalized, after refusing to eat - and often refusing to drink water - over the course of the past two weeks.
Attorneys today called Lakanwal’s condition “dire.”
Chicago U.S. Attorney Andrew Boutros explained to a judge Wednesday he didn't mean to violate one of her orders. He wrote, "there is no need for a further hearing."
U.S. Magistrate Judge Laura McNally apparently disagreed. Boutros is due in court at 10: https://t.co/Phs5MviIcw
NEW: DOJ settled a second lawsuit with Trump ally Michael Flynn, resolving his claim that the Army wrongly withheld $38K in retirement pay after concluding he accepted money from a Russia-controlled entity for a 2015 speech without approval; source says payout is a sum below $75K

"the statute of limitations for any possible crime arising from the 2020 Election has long expired, as the DOJ must have brought such a case, if it could, no later than late 2025 or the early weeks of 2026."

Compelling read here by @ryanjreilly on the forever memorable morning of July 5, 2016 at FBI headquarters. A dramatic, history-shaping, precedent-breaking day that is still-seared in the minds of everyone who lived it.
