New York 1991: our flag rises at the #UN 🇱🇹

In between,50 years of Soviet&Nazi occupation silenced our voice. We know what it means to lose freedom and a seat at the table, and we will always defend both.

Today the #multilateral order is being tested. Its fragility is a reason to preserve&strengthen it, never to abandon it.

We stand firmly for freedom,sovereignty&a world🌐governed by rules,not force.

Lithuanian physicists have been contributing to various @CERN experiments,incl #CMS (Compact Muon Solenoid), #ALICE (A Large Ion Collider Experiment), & #LHCb (Large Hadron Collider beauty). In 2024, @VU_LT became a new institute of the prestigious LHCb experiment.
It's a landmark achievement for 🇱🇹 scientific community & important step in enhancing 🇱🇹 engagement in intl'research projects

On World Humanitarian Day, @rytispaulauska joined the commemoration to honor and pay tribute to humanitarian personnel who lost their lives in service. Over the past three years, more than 1,000 humanitarian workers have been killed while on duty in Sudan, South Sudan, Ukraine and Gaza, and other parts of the world.

The scale of attacks against humanitarian workers is shocking! We must use every means possible to protect those who risk their lives to protect others.

The time for concern is over. The time for action is now.

Lithuania joined the Declaration for the Protection of Humanitarian Personnel reaffirming its commitment to defend the safe space for humanitarian action in every conflict, climate disaster and wherever humanitarians are needed most.

🌐 The International Advisory Body on Submarine Cable Resilience last week adopted its final reports and recommendations, marking an important milestone in strengthening the resilience of the global digital infrastructure.

🇱🇹 Lithuania strongly supports this initiative and sees secure and resilient submarine cables as one of the critical infrastructure priorities for ensuring reliable connectivity and safeguarding our digital future.
