We've been calling for expanded free school meal eligibility for years and are pleased to see the government pledge to do this.
We look forward to seeing this rolled out and will continue to work alongside caterers to ensure their voices are heard when delivering this change.
This is a fantastic first step towards ensuring all children in the UK can access at least one healthy and sustainable meal during the school day, with 500,000 more children now eligible for free school meals.

Our #Lancashire team had a fantastic day at Nelson St Philips 'Food for Life Day' recently! 🥳
It involved lots of cooking, planting and even a competition. One pupil shared: "I love our school kitchen garden. I picked mint and coriander to use for my cooking." 🌿
