So concerned to hear of cutting off of telecoms, banking, medical stipends and movement for civilians in Mekelle, Tigray. A repeat of the blockade imposed by the federal government in the last war #Tigray
An Ethiopian government drone strike hit a school in Tigray, destroying a World Bank-supported ICT center serving children. Education in Tigray has been targeted for years. The World Bank and international community must halt non-humanitarian funding to Ethiopia until these attacks end.

More than 6,600 IDPs at the Addi Mehammedai IDP camp are on the verge of death from hunger and disease. Those who escaped the massacres in Western Tigray and managed to reach IDP camps in the rest of Tigray are now perishing in silence.

There's much gaslighting going on right now- the idea that political violence or demonisation in politics is the preserve of one side, or is unique to the liberal left. All the evidence says otherwise- it is dangerous nonsense. I went on @PiersUncensored last night to say why.
Happy New Year from all of us at @ayder_hospital and College of Health Sciences!🎉 Wishing you joy, health, and success in the year ahead.

#EU provides 200 million birr grant for projects aimed at improving livelihoods of 80,000 households in #Tigray
The European Union (EU) has provided a 200 million birr grant to support projects aimed at improving the livelihoods of 80,000 households in Tigray.
The Tigray Disaster Preparedness Commission has announced that it will use the funds to implement projects in three districts of the region. Gebrehiwot G/Egzabher (PhD), Commissioner of the Tigray Disaster Preparedness Commission, said the support is intended to improve the lives of vulnerable citizens.
Gebrehiwot was quoted saying, “The projects, which will be implemented over the next four years, include programs in agriculture, education, and drinking water supply.” He specified that the projects will be carried out in the districts of Hintalo, Atsbi, and Endaba Tsahma.
According to the commission, the EU’s assistance will help alleviate some of the challenges communities in the region face and bring hope to residents in the targeted districts. While acknowledging that needs remain widespread across Tigray, the commission stressed the importance of using the funds effectively.
Lijalem Kahsa, head of the project, said ensuring proper implementation could attract additional assistance for other districts. “This approach will pave the way for expanding the projects and increasing the number of beneficiaries,” he noted.
Aklilu Petros, a representative of Ethiopia’s Disaster Risk Management Commission attending the projects’ launching workshop, emphasized the role of stakeholders in prioritizing projects that improve community livelihoods. He added that his institution will work to facilitate the flow of similar support to the Tigray region.
