Life was better before smartphones. The internet was great at first. Not perfect -- but creative, open, good weird. The ability to talk to people all over the world was new and exciting! But smartphones led to a new type of surveillance and people living life to be seen online.

Yes. I turn off my cell when I travel as much as I can. I use paper maps. I want to be surprised. What bothers me most are young people taking photos of places as selfies instead of enjoying the beauty of the moment. They were brought up to think this is normal, so I'm not criticizing them. But I think they're missing something valuable about human experience.

The prelude was the murder of Tracee by Ralphie which was almost unbearable to watch -- but a necessary episode. Watching Adrianna get killed is even worse because of the depth of her character (I think that's why they never fully showed her death, because they'd lose the audience forever), but the seeds of it were planted in the Tracee episode. Any delusions from the audience about the nature of this enterprise were shattered.
