Idaho’s veterans deserve to be properly honored for the sacrifices they made defending our freedoms, and I am proud to have worked with @SecVetAffairs to ensure the new the Boise Veterans’ Home moved forward after years of delays last year. Our work is not done. I remain committed to advocating for Idaho’s veterans and renovating our state veterans homes in Lewiston and Pocatello.
Idaho is home to the greatest public lands in the world. Congress must pass the America the Beautiful Act to strengthen our public lands and ensure generations may enjoy them for years to come. https://t.co/Lz3BYs8ZFH
While in Idaho Falls yesterday, I stopped by Champs Heart to talk with Larry Cudmore, one of my Idaho Service Spotlight recipients. Larry and his team showed me around their facility and let me see the horse encounters they offer to children impacted by cancer. Thank you to Larry and Champs Heart for all that you do for Idaho!
Congratulations to the College of Eastern Idaho on the ribbon cutting of their new Battelle Energy Alliance Future Tech building! This facility will prepare Idaho’s next generation for good-paying jobs and ensure the Gem State remains a leader in cybersecurity, manufacturing, energy, and so much more.
From building the nation’s first nuclear reactor to taking three microreactors critical this year, Idaho is the leader in nuclear innovation. Earlier this year, I introduced the ARC Act to incentivize investment in new reactors to ensure that the U.S., and Idaho, continue to stay at the forefront of nuclear developments.
Great to be in the Magic Valley and talk with Twin Falls County Sheriff Jack Johnson yesterday to thank him for the heroic actions his team and all local law enforcement displayed during the tragic shooting earlier this month. Our hearts are with the community, and Vicki and I are praying for everyone impacted by this horrible incident.
Mining is well engrained in the Gem State spirit and a large part of how we became a U.S. territory. Yet, Idaho’s mines still face significant challenges to open, operate, and provide America with the abundant resources in our own backyard. This is welcome news for Idaho’s thousands of small businesses who have been burdened by this excessive red tape. Eliminating unnecessary reporting requirements is a step in the right direction to keep bureaucratic bloat out of Main Street and prices down for Idahoans.
Today, @FinCENnews issued a final rule that permanently removes the requirement for U.S. companies and U.S. persons to report beneficial ownership information. FinCEN today also announced that it will delete previously reported information by U.S. persons from the beneficial ownership information database.
Idaho’s public lands are not only beautiful, they are vital to our economy and way of life. Yesterday, I sat down with @SecretaryBurgum, @SecRollins and U.S. Forest Service Chief Tom Schultz in Boise to discuss the important role of active management of our public lands and how we can best protect Idaho from wildfire.
I am looking forward to hosting @SecRollins and @SecretaryBurgum here in Idaho today to discuss ongoing wildfires in the West and how we can work together to best fight and mitigate wildfires. Protecting our public lands is vital to keeping Idaho strong!
On September 15th, the U.S. Senate will start the process of passing the Clarity Act. The stakes couldn’t be higher. Failure to pass this critical piece of legislation will leave Idahoans vulnerable to scams and fraud, as well as cede jobs, investment, economic competitiveness, and financial leadership to overseas competitors.
Earlier this week, I held a statewide telephone town hall, reaching tens of thousands of Idahoans. Talking with them, answering their questions, and making sure Idahoans have a direct line to my office is always my top priority.
Thank you to everyone who joined the conversation!
I’m proud to recognize Larry Cudmore as an Idaho Service Spotlight recipient for his work uplifting children impacted by cancer through horse encounters at Champs Heart. Having overcome cancer himself, Larry knows the immense toll this disease can take on patients and their families. Inspired by these experiences, Larry opened Champs Heart to provide a reprieve away from hospital rooms and doctors. Thank you, Larry, for bringing hope and joy to the lives of many.
Vicki and I are praying for those who have lost their homes this wildfire season. I know how dangerous and fast-moving fires can be and I urge all Idahoans to follow guidance from officials to keep themselves and their properties safe. Please visit https://t.co/TajoPLwPYH for updates on disaster assistance opportunities.
No veteran should have to wait for their benefits. Today, I introduced my Veterans’ Earned Benefits Access Act to ensure those who served can receive disability benefits when they need them without being penalized for taking separation pay.
