Today is Priesthood Sunday! Thank your priests at mass today and always keep them in your prayers as they live out their sacred vocations in service to the Church! π
Priests wield a sacred power.
When a priest makes the sacraments present, he wields a sacred power from God. This power is given by the Holy Spirit, when a priest receives the Sacrament of Holy Orders.
The exercise of this power is granted by Christ for and through His Church.
Happy 71st Birthday to #PopeLeoXIV!
Pope Leo was born on September 14, 1955 in Chicago, USA. Let's wish him a blessed and joyful birthday, praying for his ministry.
Ad multos annos! π
Priests are living witnesses of Christ in the worldβmen of strong character who stand out in our secular culture.
Pray for our Archdiocese of San Francisco priests! π
If you go to the convent and start to feel unpeaceful, or think you want to date after all, you can leave. Simple as that. Same with seminary.
Most people, even if they leave, are grateful for their time in formation. Itβll make you a better Catholic for the rest of your life!
How can I know Iβm being called?
Very few people are mistakenly ordained or inadvertently make religious vows. Formation takes years & you can leave the seminary or convent at any time. When you get closer to making a decision, God will give you inner peace about your vocation.
The Blessed Mother π
Mary is the ultimate example of openness to the will of God. Are you open to Godβs will for you?
Pray three Hail Marys every day, specifically to know your vocation and have the courage to follow it.

Do Priests Get Paid?
Yes, diocesan priests receive a modest salary, as well as room & board. The salary isn't large, but it's sufficient for personal expenses, such as clothes, car, charitable giving, & other normal expenses. Black clerical clothes are a sign of a modest life.
Get advice.
Donβt try to discern your vocation alone, without the help of the Church. Talk to a sister, brother, priest, or deacon you trust.
