As a reminder our auction for a threesome joining me at the 21 Golf Club to play the MacKenzie course ends this upcoming Sunday.
A stunning golf course that evokes his utilitarian era of using land to shape the play- 15 bunkers in total and 9 shared greens.
It’s honestly like no course I have ever played.
@gregan8@rexsalisbury@SFPublicGolf 100%. Also neglects the jobs and tourism. (Harding hosted a major a few years back). I would bet that more people play Gleneagles on any given day then visit McLaren Park. The redesigned, Golden Gate Park course is a gem and a gift. (I can’t believe the city pulled it off. )
@rexsalisbury Everyone In my circles loves and enjoys these courses, I cherish them. I'm also surprised that you'd proactively target public courses and not the private $150k+ courses where citizens cant even touch foot in.
@SFPublicGolf is doing the good fight preserve the affordability
@ULCofSFCC@rexsalisbury@SFPublicGolf Yeah, I love Gleneagles I try to get out there once or twice a month at least… and Golden Gate Park is world class par three now. also all of the great First Tee programs for children that are run out of these courses.
Rock Creek Park Golf will reopen for the season on Friday, May 1. Providing our community with affordable, accessible golf has remained our top priority since the termination of our lease this past winter. We are excited to welcome our community back to this historic facility.
Next week we launch the Society of Golf Historians Third Annual Golf Auction which will include 30 golf courses including those designed by Dr. Alister MacKenzie, CB Macdonald, Seth Raynor, Donald Ross, Willie Park Junior, Tom Doak and Brian Schneider.
