All reading is good. Let your child choose what they love to ready. Don’t rule out non-fiction, comics, graphic novels, magazines or leaflets. Reading is reading and it’s all worthwhile.

Patience is key in supporting your reader. When your child is trying to sound out an unfamiliar word, give him or her time to do so. Remind your child to look closely at the first letters of the word.
