Mr. LaRon Slay is the lone finalist for the Principal position at Wheatley Alternative Education Center. Mr. Slay graduated from Howard Payne University in 2001 with a Bachelor of Behavioral Science in Biology with a minor in Psychology. He received his Master of Educational Leadership in 2018 from the University of Texas at Arlington. Mr. Slay currently serves as an assistant principal at Lamar Middle School in Temple Independent School District. Prior to that he served as an assistant principal at Temple High School and an 8th-grade science teacher in Killeen ISD. Mr. Slay loves spending time with his family, going to church, and all things sports. He and his wife Amanda Slay, have been married 22 years and have three children. Maddix is 9, Paxton is 15, and Brayden is 19. Mr. Slay has a passion for mentoring students and is excited about the opportunity to lead at the Wheatley Alternative Education Center. #TempleISDproud
