Trainer Spotlight: Aisling Gallagher 🌟

On 8 September, we’re delighted to welcome Aisling Gallagher for Neurodiversity in the Workplace: a practical online session designed to help organisations and individuals better understand neurodivergence and create more inclusive working environments.

Aisling is a disabled Irish artist, coach and access consultant from Belfast, based in south east London. They work with organisations through neurodiversity training, facilitation and access audits, empowering teams to understand and embrace different ways of thinking, communicating and working.

With experience across both subsidised and commercial theatre — as an employee, director and assistant — and having served as Vice-Chair of Equity’s Directors & Designers Committee, Aisling brings a valuable combination of lived experience, sector knowledge and practical expertise.
Whether you’re responsible for supporting colleagues, managing teams, or creating more inclusive workplaces, this is a chance to build your confidence and develop practical approaches to neurodiversity at work.

Advice from the panel - theatre leaders should: Have a plan, for the “when” not the “if”. Have facts and figures about their venue on hand and be ready to talk about them to influential people. Get to know your local political landscape in detail, and understand it.

Today’s final session in the Queen Elizabeth Hall will look at the timely topic of ‘Devolution & the Political Divide’ - chaired by Martin Prendergast. Panelists represent @warwickarts, Portland, @MercuryTheatre and The Albany.

Some more thoughts from our panel: We need to have a range of access points through which a range of people can engage. Communities can help tell the stories for us and advocate for our value. Lobbying organisations need to go beyond the “what” and look at the “how”.
