With healthcare personnel, the infant was safely rescued and shifted to SDH Bhanjanagar for urgent medical care. Timely intervention saved a precious life! 🙏✨

During the investigation, 04 accused involved in the theft and 03 receivers of the stolen property were arrested and remanded to judicial custody.

In two successful operations, Bhanjanagar Police and Kodala Police took decisive action against illegal possession and use of firearms, reaffirming Ganjam Police's commitment to public safety.

🔹 Bhanjanagar Police arrested four accused persons 1. Anil Kumar Swain, 2. Pintu Sethi, 3. Subash Ch. Padhy and 4. Balakrushna Bishoyi and forwarded to the Hon'ble Court in Bhanjanagar P.S. Case No. 643/2026.

• One 9 mm pistol
• One magazine
• Two live rounds of ammunition
• One country-made single-shot pistol

The accused persons allegedly used these illegal firearms to extort money from villagers by threatening them at gunpoint.

🔹 Kodala Police arrested one accused person Omm Swain (21) of Village Phasi was arrested in Kodala P.S. Case No. 346/2026 and forwarded the the Hon'ble Court.

Bhanjanagar Police successfully detected a burglary case registered as Bhanjanagar P.S. Case No. 595/2026 and arrested four accused persons involved in a series of thefts.

Accused Persons Arrested:

2. M. Muna
3. A. Nagaraju
4. Jitu Nahak

Police Recovered:
🔸 Gold ornaments – 66.70 grams
🔸 Silver ornaments – 2.880 kg

Bellagam Police successfully detected an illegal explosives case and seized a large quantity of explosive materials, including:

• 12,400 Gelatin Sticks (62 cartons)
• 47 Coils of Blasting Wire

A case has been registered as Bellagam P.S. Case No. 96 dated 03.07.2026 under Section 288 of the BNS read with Section 5 of the Explosive Substances Act, 1908.

One accused, Bachan Das (34), S/o Jogi Das of Village Dhobadi, P.S. Bellagam, District Ganjam, has been arrested and forwarded to the Court.

State Level Pre-Trial Drug Disposal Programme & Mass Anti-Drug Pledge Ceremony

As part of the State Level Pre-Trial Drug Disposal Programme and Mass Anti-Drug Pledge Ceremony under the Nasha Mukt Odisha Abhiyaan, Ganjam Police organized anti-drug pledge ceremonies at the District Police Office (DPO), all Police Stations across the district and including PCM Higher Secondary School, Sorada.

Police personnel, students, teachers, and members of the local public actively participated in the pledge, reaffirming their commitment to creating a drug-free Odisha. The awareness programmes encouraged youth to stay away from drugs and spread the message of a healthy, addiction-free society.

As part of the campaign, pre-trial disposal of seized narcotic drugs was also carried out at M/s Mediaid Marketing Services, Sheragada, following all prescribed legal procedures.
