When institutions embrace continuous innovation, clear accountability, and measurable outcomes, they create a culture of productivity, high performance, and exceptional service, boosting competitiveness and lasting prosperity.

"Productivity is not about doing more with less; it is about creating more value with what we have. When institutions embrace accountability, innovation, and performance, every resource works harder, every service improves, and every citizen benefits. The true measure of our success will not be the quality of our discussions, but the actions we take and the results we deliver after this conference."
— Dr. Gilda Odera, Vice Chairperson, SRC
“Technology will multiply our efforts, but culture will sustain them. Kenya will not be a spectator in the age of artificial intelligence; we will be co‑creators, using technology to transform service delivery, boost productivity, and strengthen national competitiveness. We have too many people who have no jobs, and we cannot continue being mediocre. We have the human capital and the resources to change this nation, and we must change it with all we have. Most importantly, we must believe in ourselves ”. Dr. William Samoei Ruto, President of the Republic of Kenya.

"We will restore merit to the heart of public service. Recruitment and promotion must be fair, transparent, and based on demonstrated results. We will reward performers and innovators, and hold non‑performers accountable, without apology". Dr. William Samoei Ruto, President of the Republic of Kenya.

"Developing our human capital is our top and most urgent priority. A nation cannot rise above the skill, discipline, and diligence of its workforce. That is why we are deliberately investing in education, training, and innovation to build the capacity that will power our future". Dr. William Samoei Ruto, President of the Republic of Kenya.

“We must reject complacency. Let us measure ourselves against the best and build a public service that not only functions, but performs and delivers. Africa will not be lifted by the abundance of its resources, but by the productivity of its people. Our future depends on how effectively we convert human capital into real value and transformation". Dr. William Samoei Ruto, President of the Republic of Kenya.

“Prosperity is measured by what we produce, not by what we possess. Nations ascend not through resources alone, but through the productivity of their people". Dr. William Samoei Ruto, President of the Republic of Kenya.

"Kenya’s public service must reward results, not routines; impact, not presence. What counts is not how long a public servant sits at a desk, but how much they improve the nation’s life”. Dr. William Samoei Ruto, President of the Republic of Kenya

Devolution must deliver results, not just resources. Productivity is the bridge between public spending and better lives for citizens. Our task is to build county governments that are efficient, accountable, innovative, and focused on outcomes that truly transform communities. The Senate remains fully committed to strengthening devolution through effective legislation, oversight, and support for stronger intergovernmental systems that enhance productivity and service delivery. I also congratulate SRC leadership for convening this important dialogue on productivity and performance. Rt. Hon. Amason Jeffah Kingi, EGH, Speaker, Senate. #ProductivityConference
Delegates stressed that productivity must be embedded across all sectors, with the private sector central to performance efforts. It is also argued that sustainable growth and competitiveness depend on stronger public–private collaboration, with businesses driving innovation, investment, job creation, and broad economic transformation. #ProductivityConference
This conference highlighted the urgent need to equip our workforce for the digital economy as the rapid adoption of artificial intelligence outpaces current policy and legal frameworks. We reaffirm that productivity is a shared responsibility and that meaningful social dialogue among government, employers, workers, academia, and development partners is essential. To anchor stakeholder commitment to measurable reforms, we propose a National Productivity Charter and call for stronger policy frameworks, targeted capacity building, and a clear roadmap toward performance-based systems that drive accountability and results. Above all, we recognise that productivity underpins competitiveness, quality job creation, and better livelihoods, and we remain committed to working together to build an efficient, innovative, and high-performing economy. Mike Macharia, President-FKE
