Host of the Assembly Required podcast. Democracy, DEI, policy, small business & storytelling. Opinions are my own. My latest novel CODED JUSTICE IS OUT NOW!
Join @staceyabrams tomorrow for a community conversation on Step 5 to Freedom and Power: Litigate.
Hear from an extraordinary group of leaders about the current legal landscape in America, what it means, and the strategies already in play. You’ll also learn about organizations doing this work on the ground and discover ways to get involved in your own community.

Donald Trump just used a primetime address to relitigate an election he lost six years ago — and to demand new laws making it harder to vote.
Americans see through the lies. He tried this in Georgia first: a call to "find 11,780 votes," a raid on Fulton County, and now a war on the ballot itself.
That's not democracy. That's cowardice. America, we've beaten it before.
One of the joys of a book hitting shelves is meeting the readers who bring the stories home.
In Coded Justice, Avery Keene enters a world of AI, money and the power to save lives - but innovation has a devastating cost. The question is: who will pay the ultimate price?
Thank you to The Book Worm, FoxTale Book Shoppe, Barnes & Noble, A Capella Books, Eagle Eye Book Shop and 44th & 3rd Bookseller for hosting me. Deep
gratitude to everyone who joined our conversations. I am especially grateful for the independent bookstores that nurture our curiosity, strengthen our communities and make room for the stories that help us imagine what comes next.
Coded Justice, now in paperback, is available wherever books are sold. And ready to be your next beach read.

You know who's also running for U.S. Senate? This happily married dad of two who was vetted by the FBI for a federal judgeship. 😎

Those attacking our voting rights are afraid of the power we hold and how we’ve poured into this nation’s story. This #Juneteenth, we celebrate and honor the fight of those who came before us. Our mission in this moment is unmistakable: push on until our full freedom is finally realized.
One of my favorite pictures with my father, Reverend Robert Lee Abrams. He and Mom built a beautiful family and filled it with faith, courage, service, laughter, and love.
You left so much good behind, Dad. We love you.

Step 9 in the fight for democracy is electing leaders who protect us. The FBI raids against Ohio grassroots organizations echo attacks on the right of Black and brown voters to be heard. We must be vigilant about defending our democracy — everywhere for everyone. So we register, engage, and vote. Together, we must protect our rights.
FBI special agents searched an office of a progressive organization in Ohio as part of a Justice Department investigation into its voter registration efforts, three people familiar with the matter tell NBC News. https://t.co/bpFcj3QYI9
🗣️ GA, let your legislators know what's important to you and your community as they redraw districts lines.
We will be joined by our founder, @staceyabrams for Mapping Monday on 6/15.
Make your voice heard before lines are drawn!

One question: Give us concrete suggestions about what we can be doing to save democracy right now. Answered by some amazing friends who dropped what they were doing to share their thoughts with us tonight. https://t.co/NMdn8cuPfr
Children can’t vote, but their hunger is real. Yet, once again, Gov. Brian Kemp has refused to help — vetoing funding for summer nutritional assistance. Georgia families are struggling to afford groceries, rent and health care, and this would be a lifeline. During this election season remember that your elected officials should serve you and the needs of your community. If you're in need of assistance, visit: https://t.co/7Na8k7bgNp
🚨 The Supreme Court just let Alabama Republicans change the rules and use a racist congressional map for this year’s midterm elections.
It’s time for us to organize, mobilize, and vote like we’ve never voted before!
“This is a moment when we need to flip the script and have state government be the forefront of civil rights and a representative democracy.”
Our own @DanielSquadron joins @staceyabrams’ Assembly Required to talk about how we build power in the states.

Our tax dollars should be used to fund care, not cruelty!
Our MOMbassador and Maryland member Jean joined our team, @mychal3ts, @staceyabrams, @10stepscampaign, @domesticworkers, and more to head over to Capitol Hill and demand Republicans in Congress reject $70 billion in funding for an out-of-control ICE and Trump's ballroom and instead invest in health care, child care, aging and disability care, food assistance, and lowering costs for families.
Read Jean's blog post about her experience, and tell Congress to #FundCareNotICE! https://t.co/8j00cWp7PF #ReconciliationBill
Originally called Decoration Day, Black Americans interred the bodies of fallen Union soldiers to honor their sacrifice — now known as Memorial Day. Decades later, my great-grandfather served our nation in WWI. Then my grandfather took post in WWII and the Korean War. Today and every day, I honor their sacrifice by fighting for rights they were denied in a country they loved, knowing freedom will prevail if we refuse to give up the battle.
