I’ve seen one piece, I’ve caught up, hell I love Katakuri vs Luffy but walk with me for a second

->MOST<- One Piece characters have an annoyingly tragic backstory although A FEW genuinely make it work. ->MOST<- of the time Oda adds on when it was unnecessary (Luffy having a tragic backstory when he was fine without one)

One Piece outside of backstory writing has decent writing (Loki as a whole in Elbaf I like) but imo they did a trade of better hype moments and aura for actual good writing since the timeskip
