The City of St. Louis proudly raised the Juneteenth Flag today, a vibrant symbol of freedom, resilience, and hope that echoes across generations.

#SLMPD officers are working with MODOT and the Streets Department to close eastbound I-70 at Tucker until further notice due to a large sinkhole under the interstate. Eastbound I-44 will also be closed and traffic will be redirected onto the Poplar Street Bridge.

If you’re traveling westbound on the Poplar Street Bridge, you will not be able to exit at Walnut.

Please use alternate routes. We will share additional updates as soon as possible.

According to @SLMPD, 23 juveniles were detained last night. Of those, 17 were from the County, and 6 were from the City. No incidents of juvenile gun violence were reported.
Please remember that the curfew is in effect again this evening.

Youth are exempt if they are with a parent/guardian, or with an adult (age 21+) approved by a parent; going home from work, school, or religious/community activities (within 1 hour of the activity's end); or outside their home or a neighbor’s home (with no concerns raised).

Winter weather is returning to St. Louis with low temperatures and an increased probability of high winds and snow this evening. Transportation to shelter will be available Monday from 5 p.m. - 7 p.m.

While this work is ongoing, do not park along these sections of Jefferson.

Access to cross streets will be maintained, except when operations are directly passing by the intersection.

Please proceed slowly when driving near crews or in lanes where the pavement has been removed.

South Jefferson Avenue is getting new pavement, new stripes and improved safety features, including enhanced crosswalks, curb bump-outs and raised medians.

This is part of the ARPA-funded $46 million project to improve safety on more than 30 miles of St. Louis arterials.

If traveling between Chouteau and Gravois, note that we will be removing the old pavement this week and repaving the road next week.

If traveling between Gravois and Chippewa, note that we will begin removing the old pavement next week. Two-way traffic will remain open.
