This week marks 135 years since the Second Morrill Act established our 1890 Land-Grant Universities! These historically Black colleges are a critical pipeline for developing the next generation of agricultural leaders.

On August 30, 1890, Congress passed the Second Morrill Act, creating 19 Historically Black 1890 Land-Grant Universities.

Born out of inequality, these institutions turned exclusion into excellence, expanding opportunity and proving higher education is a promise to the people.

135 years later, their legacy of resilience and innovation continues.

For 135 years, the Second Morrill Act of 1890 has helped build equity in education through supporting our land grant HBCUs.

We must ensure every land grant HBCU is given the funding they're owed through this act so they can continue providing for their students and communities.
