You must be seeing many accounts on X who are very intelligent, well articulated in English and even Hindi, and write and comment on various topics like tea, coffee, food, reflective posts about their daily lives, or post photographs taken by them, but they never write or post about political issues, or write anything which can point out towards their political leanings, religious beliefs, etc.

Do we think they cannot write on these subjects? Of course they can, and probably very well. They simply choose not to. Not because they are afraid to express their opinions, but because doing so can sometimes strain relationships with friends on X, and even with relatives or family members. It can also bring a lot of unrelated and unwanted stress in their lives.

Without dropping any names, I've definitely learned a lot from watching them.

I used to get pretty fired up and argue about everything online, which honestly just stressed me out. Many of my mutuals, I suspect, muted me or quietly removed me from their lists, but all of that is in the past.

Over time, I changed. These days I rarely write on such subjects. I mostly write about food memories, music, books, and anything that might trigger happy memories or a smile. Life on X is so much better now.

I think most of us are just here to unwind, learn something, and make good connections. As for politics and current affairs, there is no shortage of people writing about them. Thousands of accounts discuss those subjects every day from every possible viewpoint.

I am sure many won't agree with this, but I have not written this for favorable opinions. It is just what came to my mind. This is simply the choice I made because it has made my own social media experience far more enjoyable.
