As we prepare for an exciting 2026–2027 school year at Southwest Middle School, we’re pleased to share our School Break Planner to help families plan ahead.

Regular attendance is one of the greatest predictors of student success. Whenever possible, we encourage families to schedule vacations, appointments, and other non-urgent activities during our scheduled school breaks. By planning ahead, students can maximize their learning opportunities, remain connected to their teachers and classmates, and continue building the momentum that leads to success.

As I begin this new chapter as Transformation Principal of Southwest Middle School, my heart is filled with gratitude.

Serving the students, families, and staff of Andrea B. Williams Elementary School has been one of the greatest honors of my career. Together, we celebrated victories, overcame challenges, and proved what is possible when a community believes in its children. ABW will always hold a special place in my heart.

I am excited to embrace the challenge and opportunity that awaits at Southwest Middle School. I believe in the potential of every scholar, every educator, and every family that makes up Eagle Nation. The work ahead will require commitment, collaboration, and courage—but I am confident our best days are ahead of us.
