did my https://t.co/zANOEvvHvH at IIT Bombay and my PhD at IIT Delhi. I've been a professor for 14 years now. In 22 years of watching the IIT/IIIT system closely, I have never once witnessed a teacher discriminate against a student on the basis of caste.
During my https://t.co/zANOEvvHvH, most of us had no idea what caste our batchmates belonged to. Many of my close friends were SC/ST. We never discussed it. It never entered any conversation or decision. Not once. Our exposure to the humanities department was limited, though — the term "Brahmanical patriarchy" didn't even exist back then.
As a teacher, I don't ask a student's name before solving their doubt. Often I don't know their name at all — some of my classes have 300+ students. We treat them all the same. So does every colleague I know. So did every professor who taught me.
Social media has now filled vulnerable students' heads with a lot of manufactured grievance about caste discrimination that, in my experience, doesn't exist.
@Siddharthj710@RitzyB94@JaipurDialogues What a great way to end the day.
Witnessing an overconfident idiot living in his own la la land 😂😂😂
Man… You guys make this world a funnier place to live.
@TVMohandasPai Sir, very rare but you are wrong here. The people who hackle others to speak Kannada do not check what service the other person offering.
They do it while driving auto, while serving idli wada or simply while standing beside two people who are talking in Hindi.
Its a disease.
@chandrarsrikant@TVMohandasPai What is arrogance in there? Learning a new language is some kind of joke?
Whoever is interested, they’ll learn.
You can’t force people to learn your language. Its pathetic.
So many innocent folks are suffering this utter nonsense in public places.
Do not water this disease.
@Bhaigan9@Amockx2022 Dont have the guts come out with actual identity, absolute ignorant, no clue about what sangh is but living on “lol 😂😂😂”, choo chweeet…
