For the record:
- The contrast in media coverage between Ranchi and Jantar Mantar is striking.
- By Day 7, the Ranchi protest had already drawn most mainstream news networks. Over the last two days, coverage has been close to wall-to-wall—and this is before the student march on 10 August.
- At Jantar Mantar, most media only turned up after Day 21 of protest . Even then, sustained coverage by a few came largely after students took out a march and were met with a brutal police crackdown.
This is the level of attention Jantar Mantar deserved… as Ranchi rightfully does and is getting. - 👆largely for those drawing false equivalence between the two protests to try shame those who spoke for Jantar Mantar..

1 करोड़ इंटर्न कहाँ हैं?

5 साल में 1 करोड़ युवाओं को इंटर्नशिप मिलेगी.

2 साल में 26 हज़ार युवाओं को इंटर्नशिप मिली है.

आप शायद भूल गए होंगे. यह घोषणा वित्त मंत्री ने जुलाई 2024 में की थी . हिसाब किताब प्रधानमंत्री इंटर्नशिप योजना का. 2024 चुनाव में बीजेपी को अपने दम पर बहुमत नहीं मिला. युवा असंतोष भी इसका एक कारण माना गया था. केंद्र सरकार ने बजट में युवाओं के लिए ताबड़तोड़ पैकेज की घोषणा की थी. इंटर्नशिप योजना उसी पैकेज का हिस्सा थी.

क्या थी इंटर्नशिप योजना?

केंद्र सरकार 500 बड़ी कंपनियों में इंटर्नशिप का मौक़ा देगी. इंटर्नशिप 12 महीने चलेगी. हर महीने इंटर्न को ₹5 हज़ार स्टायपेंड मिलेगा. कंपनी को इंटर्न को काम का अनुभव और ट्रेनिंग देनी होगी. स्कीम के पीछे सोच थी कि युवाओं को कैरियर की शुरुआत में काम का अनुभव मिल जाए.

सरकार ने समय-समय पर संसद में जो जानकारी दी है उसके अनुसार पहले राउंड में करीब 8 हज़ार युवाओं को इंटर्नशिप मिली, दूसरे राउंड में करीब 7 हज़ार. युवाओं को इंटर्नशिप के लिए घर के पास ही मौक़े चाहिए थे. स्कीम की सफलता में यह बड़ी अड़चन मानी गई थी. अब सरकार ने स्कीम का दायरा छोटी कंपनियों तक बढ़ा दिया और स्टायपेंड बढ़ाकर 9 हज़ार रुपये कर दिया. तीसरे राउंड में करीब 11 हज़ार युवाओं ने इंटर्नशिप ली है. दो साल में यह आँकड़ा 26 हज़ार तक ही पहुँचा है जबकि सरकार का लक्ष्य था 30 लाख.सवाल है कि तीन साल में 99 लाख से ज़्यादा युवाओं को इंटर्नशिप कैसे देगी सरकार?

यह योजना जब शुरू हुई थी तब भी मैंने हिसाब किताब में पूछा था कि 1 करोड़ इंटर्न कैसे बनेंगे?

देश की 500 बड़ी कंपनियों में  70 लाख कर्मचारी हैं ( यह आँकड़ा अब 84 लाख है) इस हिसाब से हर साल 15-20 लाख इंटर्न रखने पड़ेंगे. सवाल है कि क्या इन कंपनियों में इतने लोगों को काम देने की क्षमता है?

सरकारी योजनाएं कागज़ों पर तो बन जाती हैं ज़मीन पर उतारने में दिक़्क़त आती है. इंटर्नशिप योजना इसका उदाहरण है. बेरोजगारी का मुद्दा जस का तस बना हुआ है.

E 20 पेट्रोल के कारण 2005 से 2016 के बीच बनीं गाड़ियों में रबर के पुर्जे और Gaskets ख़राब हो सकते हैं लेकिन इंजन पर कोई असर नहीं पड़ता है. केंद्रीय सड़क परिवहन मंत्री ने यह जानकारी राज्यसभा में दी है. दिल्ली जैसे शहरों में गाड़ियों को सड़क पर 15 साल चलाया जा सकता है. इसका मतलब यह समस्या 2031 तक बनी रह सकती है.

How dare women be angry?
How dare women occupy public spaces without first proving they are dignified enough to deserve that space?
That is the burden we women  have carried for generations..the burden of respectability.
And it is precisely that burden these young women refused to carry.
We, as millennial women, were raised on those expectations. We were taught that a woman must be graceful, calm, composed, demure; that she must make her point politely and with dignity. We lived through those  standards...  -  Every step outside those boundaries invited judgment. Every act of defiance came with a price.

Ms Ranaut - we are millennials , we cared. We measured every word. We watched every step. We carried the burden of respectability everywhere.
They don't... and dare we pass that burden on to them ..they deserve better because we know we deserved better -
