Forgive me, but I won't be silent on what's going on right now in my country.
Our government wants us to fight and bicker. Slander and harass each other. They want us to throw stones and increase the violence. Trump refusing to use the insurrection act makes him look worse by the day in Minnesota.
We have Riots in the streets and fraud to an insane level. Everyday this continues is more confirmation our government on all sides wants us constantly fighting each other.
Political violence has gotten out of hand and its only escalating by the day.
You have leftists celebrating the death of Charlie Kirk for just speaking and then the attempted assassination of Donald Trump. Actively advocating for violence against people with difference of opinion. Calling them Nazis for some crazy person will finally do something
Then you got Right-leaning people also mocking the death of Renee Good that was radicalized thinking its okay to hit an agent with her car. She shouldn't have been there and she should still be alive with her family, but because of political violence that was allowed to escalate its no longer possible for her to be with her family.
We have politicians in Minnesota actively working against Federal agents and telling cops to not help ICE agents from being mobbed by rioters. Only escalating the tension further where ICE will make mistakes out of fear for their life and cause more people to likely die
We have people walking into churches terrorizing children to protest against ICE
We have TikTok Creators making videos saying to harm ICE agents
Then we have both sides are mocking the dead by turning their final moments into memes to get political brownie points against the other side. Continuing to escalate the temperature.
Each day both sides are getting more and more extreme to the point they're bloodthirsty wanting more.
These same people in politics are trying to protect criminals that have hurt children from being deported or arrested by ICE
Then we have the Epstein files and how its a blatant cover-up by all parties. Indicating everyone is corrupted and involved
You have the face of Epstein a despicable human plastered everywhere as a meme giving him immortality within a meme.
These same people posting this has used his face to slander people over fiction. By doing this they have watered down the crimes of Epstein and people don't take it as seriously
Both sides are using us like tools to hate each other and they are doing it effectively on all fronts
We are reaching a breaking point in this country
Japan's new Prime Minister says she prefers to let the population shrink rather than bring in waves of low-skilled immigrants to offset the decline because the preservation of Japanese society matters more than cheap labor.
Is Anime inherently political? Many anime works are inherently unrelated to politics, but it seems that there are people who try to link even these works to politics.
@ChibiReviews Thank you. We are outraged by this cowardly act and what he or she wrote about Charlie Kirk. Law enforcement is working to identify him or her.
The funniest part of this video is when they get to Inuyasha, somehow can only find it in Spanish and then complain that it's in Spanish and put it in D-Tier.
It's like if Mega64 bits were real people.
Hot Take: People around the world are growing more and more against immigration because those that go to other countries aren't trying to integrate with the culture within that country, but forcefully change it.
Tomorrow is the beginning of a potential fight for Freedom of Expression within artwork. Texas SB20 threatens most fictional works. On top of that Crunchyroll is stationed in Texas, which means we could see a lot of censorship from them too. https://t.co/p8ogPGWWP9
🇯🇵 THE CENSORSHIP THREAT HIDING BEHIND “GLOBAL STANDARDS”
It started with a warning - Japanese lawyer Masaki Kito telling creators that anime and manga should start conforming to “global standards.”
At first glance, it sounded like a neutral bit of legal advice. A comment on copyright, character names, maybe intellectual property law. But the backlash was instant and explosive, because everyone knew what it really meant.
Conform. Soften. Flatten. Scrub the edges. Smooth out what makes anime and manga uniquely, defiantly Japanese.
Kito’s message wasn’t just about law. It was about bending art to fit a global mold. And that’s why it hit like a punch to the gut - especially from the fans abroad he claimed to be speaking to.
Overseas supporters didn’t nod in agreement. They roared back: “We don’t want that.” “Don’t destroy the culture.” The irony? The call for conformity landed like a foreign invasion - and it was international fans who helped spark the resistance.
Their outrage helped elevate the issue into one of the top trends on X in Japan. It became more than a lawyer’s offhand remark. It became a cultural alarm bell.
Because “global standards” aren’t neutral. They’re often code for censorship. For sanding down sharp corners and controversial themes. For erasing the local flavor that made the thing worth exporting in the first place.
The moment creators begin thinking, “What will the West tolerate?” instead of, “What do I want to say?” - something fundamental gets lost.
It’s easy to forget just how vulnerable expression is in an industry that now lives and dies on global dollars. Anime, manga, and games have become billion-dollar exports. That money comes with strings. And those strings look like guidelines, rating boards, content filters, and quiet conversations about what’s “acceptable.” But the effect is loud. And silencing.
People like Kito may mean well. But framing censorship as modernization doesn’t make it less dangerous. It just makes it more insidious. And right now, creators need more protection from that pressure, not less.
Art doesn’t need to conform to thrive. It needs room to offend. To provoke. To challenge. Sometimes that means jokes that land differently in different cultures. Sometimes it means themes that don’t translate cleanly. And that’s the point. Culture isn’t supposed to be frictionless. It’s supposed to be honest.
This week’s uproar wasn’t just about one lawyer or one manga. It was a gut-check for an entire industry. A reminder that overseas fans don’t want a sanitized product - they want the real thing.
That Japanese fans aren’t passive - they’re watching, and they’re done being quiet. And that if global demand comes with a muzzle, maybe it’s time to bite the hand that feeds.
Censorship dressed up as global progress is still censorship. And if we let it win, we don’t just lose characters and stories - we lose the freedom to imagine without apology. That’s a cost no creator should be asked to pay. And no culture should be asked to accept.
Not now. Not ever.
