#GeorgeNewbern voiced and recorded new lines with #SteveBurton for the mobile #MobiusFF game including its #FFVIIRemakeCampaign that ran in 2017 and 2018. It only made sense that they would be our #Sephiroth and #CloudStrife. Except they weren't.

Just a gentle yearly reminder that the remake was on Newbern’s radar since 2015 & in 2016 during a con he told an interviewer he was getting his agent to contact SE. Its safe to saw he WAS available during those years leading up to the release of FF7R.

@ezraklein @juliaoftoronto Please include these people as people at risk of exposure as well as they have no WFH option, either. Face to face, even with barriers, is still face to face. If someone unmasked comes in and approaches colleagues (it happens a lot), it's exposure.

If the veteran VAs of the #FFVIICompilation were undesirable, then why give them roles in post-2015 games like #DissidiaNT and #MobiusFF?

One supposes that the #MobiusFF's #FFVIIRemake Campaign in 2017 would have been a prime time to break ties & usher in the new VAs, but nope.

Even in a mega-corporation, publicly broadcasted "SURPRISE! YOU'VE BEEN FIRED!" dismissals is considered to be in poor taste and E3 is about as public of an event as a gaming event can be.

I have never been so embarrassed about one of my favorite game publishers as I was then.

Or, at the very least, told of their dismissal from their roles before the entire world at large is.

Finding out at the same time that their fans did is just wrong.

They may not be entitled to their old roles, but they are entitled to basic respect.

Even if voice actors aren’t “entitled” to roles, if they pretty much make a career out of voicing a certain character & fans wrongly associate them with that role, I think it’s only fair that they are the first to be cast/audition especially if they have worked hard for it.

@MorikunRinari If I were them, it wouldn't make sense to me to start doing work for the #FF7RRemake (which includes lending their voices to the #MobiusFinalFantasy campaign)... Only to not voice the remake after all.
