The attempt to sabotage a photographer’s chances ended up creating the most memorable image of his career.
Everyone at the regional zoo photography competition knew he was the favorite. Year after year, his elephant photographs stood out, and he had earned a reputation for being one of the friendliest people there, always gracious even when others hoped someone else would finally take the top prize.
So when a zoo insider quietly helped a competing friend, they thought they had found the perfect way to stop him. He was assigned the worst elephant viewing slot of the day, a time when the elephants were usually resting and inactive. Since his winning images often showcased their strength, movement, and personality, it seemed like a guaranteed disadvantage. He realized exactly what was happening, but instead of arguing or complaining, he simply picked up his camera and headed in as if nothing had changed.
When he arrived, he found an elephant peacefully resting among a pile of old tires, completely still, with a small butterfly perched on its trunk. Rather than trying to force a dramatic shot, he patiently waited. Moments later, the elephant opened its eyes and awkwardly crossed them to look at the butterfly sitting inches from its face.
The result was one of the funniest and most unexpected wildlife photographs anyone at the event had ever seen. 😂
The image went on to win the competition and quickly spread far beyond it, becoming a reminder that sometimes the obstacle meant to hold you back ends up leading directly to your greatest opportunity.
Chihuahua goes back for its bedtime buddy.
A family in Tulsa, Oklahoma thought they had given a tiny Chihuahua the home he had been waiting for, but three nights in a row, he somehow slipped out in the middle of the night and ended up right back outside the same shelter he had just left.
At first, they thought maybe he did not want to be adopted. Maybe he missed the only place he knew. So on the third night, instead of taking him straight home, they brought him inside and asked the shelter workers to open the door just to see where he would go.
But the Chihuahua did not run to his old cage. He ran straight to another kennel, where a bigger dog was waiting on the other side of the bars.
That is when an employee told them the two dogs had been best friends at the shelter. Their kennels were across from each other, and every night they would lie down facing one another, falling asleep while staring across the aisle.
The little Chihuahua had not been running away from his new home.He was going back for the friend who helped him get through the hardest nights.
After hearing the story, the family adopted the bigger dog too. Now the two dogs finally sleep beside each other in the same home, instead of across from each other through shelter bars.
@DailyMail No one is ‘concerned’ or ‘worried’ or fretful over ANYTHING the Prince and Princess of Wales are doing, apart from this rag of a paper. Every bloody single week there’s a hit on on Prince William. It’s beyond ridiculous now.
There are no dogs left behind. We have them all.
Operation Closure continues this week as 22 more former research beagles make their journey to Kindness Ranch.
Including the arrivals yesterday, 42 beagles are now safe at Kindness Ranch, beginning their second chance at life.
No words are needed; her cry says it all. The little girl, who grew up with "her" bull, teaches us a lesson in humanity and empathy by desperately begging for this animal's life. "He didn't do anything, he just wants to go home."

This is one of the Ridglan Farms beagles who has been recently rescued.
This face haunts me.
How....
How can humans abuse and torture, because lab use is abuse, these most docile and kindest creatures on earth.
Beagles are used strategically because of their disposition. They never become cruel with continued abuse.
We must always advocate and fight for the souls who have no voice.
Following months of activism, 1,500 beagles are being released from the Ridglan Farms testing facility to animal rescue groups: the Beagle Freedom Project and Big Dog Ranch Rescue. To all the dogs being released, we wish you many years in loving homes. 14/10 for all
