🌹 The MU has been affiliated to @UKLabour since 1943
As a result, the union has been heavily involved in the creation of Labour's policies for arts and music
Today is a real chance to vote for meaningful commitments that will change MU members' lives for the better
97%+ of over 65s are registered to vote. Only 2/3s of 18-24 year olds are on the register. If you turn 18 on or before 4th July you can register to vote right now.
Do not lose your democratic birthright! It matters so much.
It only takes 5 minutes.

We are deeply saddened by the passing of our dear friend, colleague and lifelong activist, Rab Noakes.
Rab served the MU tirelessly. He was a committed and valued trade unionist. He fought for what was right, always.

We LOVED this project earlier in the year. Back in Selby Abbey with the fantastic young people of Selby singing their hearts out performing songs they’d written. #musiceduk#primaryrocks#sing

Just arrived at @WeAreTheMU Members’ Conference in Leeds where, for the first time, the whole programme is dedicated to equality, diversity & inclusion in music. We are here to listen to members so we can better represent everyone. Excited.
It's #WorldMentalHealthDay2022 and to mark this, we asked MU member Louise Braithwaite to explain the importance of mental health first aid training and why we should all try listening for that little bit longer. Re read the inspiring blog below 👇

Great to spend a couple of days helping the @manorceacademy Y7 students get settled in and get to know each other! Confidence and communication through comedy with @PaulBirch5 and body percussion teamwork and confidence with @SamDunkleyMusic - and a lot more besides!
How gendered is the clothing offer for children? For our @SZ data analysis, we examined 20,000 shirts and shorts from @hmdeutschland, @Zalando and @aboutyou_com that they offer online for children under 10. The results show: Current children's fashion cements gender images. 🧵
