I always admired that about the CFO, and now I apply the same thought process to technology - you've got to look big picture when it comes to data and how it's used in the same way when you look at numbers in business you also have to look big picture.
Mentors don't have to be someone that goes out of their way to meet with you and teach you things... hear me out!
Back in my early Finance days, I remember working under a CFO that was always talking big picture, zooming out from the numbers.
In order for automation, lead scoring, and many other marketing processes to work, you need accurate data integrated across your entire tech stack.
You need Adobe Analytics to talk to Salesforce and Salesforce to talk to Google Ads.
According to Statista, there are over 10,000 marketing tech solutions available to companies in 2022.
Almost all are powered by data and most have data as their main output.
If a marketer doesn't take integrating their systems seriously, that's very concerning.
To have someone senior recognize your value and celebrate your work to that level was unbelievably rewarding, especially as I was building up confidence in my abilities. ๐๐ฝ
