And that’s a wrap. Thank you to everyone who has engaged with me this year. It’s been a doozy, but you made every minute worthwhile. @AdamKassamMD is your newest, 140th OMA President. Excited to support him supporting you. @OntariosDoctors@drmsgandhi
@arghavan_salles I’d be more worried that the actual DEI issues prevent people who would make excellent surgeons and doctors from ever being given the chance to care for and protect your loved ones.
@arghavan_salles Agreed. There are massive issues with how DEI issues have been taken and politicized and « agendified ». But not one of them would let an incompetent person take care of a patient. There are checks in place to protect people.
When multiple past-presidents and board directors of the OMA take the time to put together a piece this heart-wrenchingly honest, one can only hope others listen. https://t.co/qDFW5FB5dP

We can't make progress on bias when ppl are only prepared to acknowledge it as a general thing, but immediately generate excuses when it's brought up in individual cases/incidents.
💔 This is devastating to witness — if this family can’t establish a long-term relationship with another doc, this gentleman will fall through the cracks.
This goes beyond prescription renewals to the heart of caring for complex patients… which is the heart of family medicine.
I was just asked to be on The National to discuss Roe and abortion...and then I found out it would be a panel with a "pro-life/anti-abortion" voice. I am livid and sent this reply. I couldn't care less if this means I will not be asked back to the CBC. It needed to be said.
Immensely proud to witness @DGlaucomflecken deliver the commencement address at @YaleMed today. Knocked it out of the park with a message on humor, healing, and humanity in medicine. Who would’ve known where a silly med satire hobby and 3 life-and-death experiences would take us.
KINDNESS ALERT:
This is Dr. David MacMillan. He won the 2021 Nobel Prize in Chemistry.
How is he using his prize money?
By giving it to students who can't afford to go to university so they can get their degrees.
Well done, Professor. 👏🏼
Thunder Bay. OMA AGM. Straddling the virtual and in person elements. Pursuing transformation and improvement in th midst of the Pandemic. Listening to experts discuss the health Human Resources crisis. Grateful. @OntariosDoctors@thenosm
Hi Twitter. It’s been a rough few years, right? Well, last weekend I went from fighting for patients to being a patient. Despite being fully vaccinated as eligible, and masked to the best of our ability, one of my kids brought home COVID.
