@flatland_sports Thank you. 9 wins and you’re in. People acting like that’s an awful season is crazy. If you go 9-3, you will have a play in game and then hit the road for any other games past that. It’s not a free ticket
@JesseMyers88 Clearing a path for top teams to get hot? You have to win four top 16 games in a row to be crowned national champion in a 24 team format. Only the best of the best can pull that off and arbitrary rankings shouldn’t matter.
@PDawg206 I think finding the right 16 is a perfect tournament. I just think they should play 8 play in games to find the right bottom 8. And it fixes the bowl game problem. Gator bowl had 30K people attend the last two years. A shell of itself. Make 8 more postseason games matter
@PDawg206 The graphic is advocating for expanding the playoff because a team like Utah is top 10 but the resume said otherwise LY. I agree, those teams should be given a shot, just like BYU who had a better resume than Utah but were behind metrically. Expand and play it out, end P4 bowls
@Dawgs198@flatland_sports Yes. Look at last year. Texas would have jumped into the top 8 earning a bye if they won. By losing, they finished #13 which now would mean an extra playoff game and then having to play #6 on the road in the R16
@CFBKings Ok let’s keep it at 12 for a hypothetical. How do you know BYU was better than Vandy? Both 10 wins, how should it be decided? I vote by playing games not having a committee try to suss it out
@CFBKings One 8-4 team would have made it last year and it was Iowa. They are expanding because teams not in the playoff aren’t sending out their best for bowl games anymore. And if #9 Bama can’t beat Iowa at home in a do-or-die game, then the playoff did its job. Play it out on the field
@JoshPateCFB 10-1 Ohio st vs 10-1 Michigan would mean something because they would play to be crowned Big Ten champ. How does that not still mean something?
Did the SEC title game in 2021 not mean anything to Georgia because they were automatically in the 4 team playoff?
@AndyStaples All teams in round 1 now have fanbases with more juice in a Nov than ever before. Top teams now have to win four top 16 games to win a title. To say this isn’t great for CFB makes no sense to me.
@JackYou53538107@BrettKollmann 10 seed was runner up LY. Miami was one of the best teams in the country regardless of record and the PLAYOFF proved that.
Also, you’re telling me you wouldn’t watch #21 Mich at #12 Texas in a do-or-die game. Instead, you’d rather watch their 2s in the ReliaQuest Bowl. No way
@JackYou53538107@BrettKollmann It’s about making those teams play meaningful games, not the 2s in the outback and gator bowl.
Seeding still matters, hosting a home game still matters.
Think about why the NCAA needs those teams ranked 13-24 in a playoff. Players and teams are opting out, this changes that
@JackYou53538107@BrettKollmann What’s talent have to do with finding a real champion? Four top 16 wins in a row to end the season is better than any system the ncaa has ever deployed
@AndyStaples It’s about teams & players skipping other top bowl games. Now more teams won’t send the 2s out for the Outback Bowl. It’s a response to the opt outs. Do or die games are better than bowl games that mean nothing. Oh and it makes more money for EVERYONE. Nostalgia is something else
@PDawg206 Put TCU in? They beat Michigan to get there. I don’t know why you think they couldn’t win 2 games against 2-3 loss teams to get to the same spot for a chance to upset Michigan.
@jacobkarnes@Ripamaru@PDawg206 Cincy won at ND that year who finished #5 in the country. They were a very good (14 nfl draft picks and 9 in 2022 alone) and capable of winning 2 games to get to the semi-finals. Stop with this
